Does the amount of how much you have installed on your Daz play a big part in how fast or slow it loads up? is it possible to have had installed too maany products so your Daz can be sluggish when loading new scenes and starting up etc?

starting program no. loading chars yes, because you're loading morphs from every character. Also slower when posing because of more JCMs.

posing is super annoying for me, i have to wait like a minute to move a finger by 1 cm

Loading a G8 takes 15 to 30 seconds for me and I don't own anything like most of the morphs.

If loading is really slow, multiple minutes, you likely have errors during loading, the dreaded "Duplicate Formula". Look in the log and identify the problem packages, report them to Daz and delete them until they get fixed, if they get fixed.

what are JCMs pls. Also what folders you think are worth deleting from the most if you have installed content on there that you don't need and is slowing performance.

JCMs are joint controlled morphs, meaning morphs that occur when posing. For example, flexing an arm makes muscles show more.

you should delete from DAZ install manager, don't delete individual files because products have many files from different folders..

Your character (and scene) load times increases with the number of characters and morphs you have installed in your active library for that generation and gender. Compound this with the number of characters you have in your scene. Errors during loading do play a part but you may not see significant improvements even after addressing them. The load times are kinda wealth-tax that gets levied for the amount of assets that you have declared (installed). Though here, its possible to cheat on that wealth-tax by hiding or not declaring your assets. Else, you need to be rich enough not to feel the pinch of the tax.

Bottomline - you should probably get at least 32 GB ram if you are working with an active library with 500+ available characters for a single generation and gender for not to be bothered by load times. Otherwise good luck juggling with your installed characters.
