Got around to making this random self-portrait, with bonus Ronen. I just dress up my avatar with whatever outfits I have in My Library.

Is he upset cause you took his staff ?

I bought the outfit, where the staffs are from, so technically he's upset I didn't let him borrow one of mine. XD

Your avatar looks adorable, by the way.

Woot woot! Hawt momma! I didn't think to put a hunk in my selfie. Maybe I should make another? Lol. I like this a lot. You did great. love the outfit too! That was my hardest consideration in how to dress myself. Can you link this outfit in the store?

Outfit is Aery Mage for G3F. https://www.daz3d.com/aery-mage-for-genesis-3-female-s

Since my avatar is G8F, I moved the arms up to T-pose the figure a bit and un-selected it before loading the staffs. Then I spent a while trying to adjust the fingers around the staff. I used the Scene Identification trick for most parts, except the bikini underneath. Dressing the avatar was the easiest part, since I only chose an outfit I liked for its look. Finding a good pose and adjusting it for the composition was the hardest. XD

@nonesuch00 That render is still an excellent likeness despite its mistakes.

Thanks, I was pleased that I could at least (or rather finally) figure out where the mistakes were.

Has any one 3D printed there selfie?

If so how did it come out

No, I haven't tried. I am trying to declutter my house, not clutter it more. laugh At any rate I would want the digital 3D likeness to be higher before printing if I were to pay so much.

About the only thing that could tempt me to really print a selfie in 3D is if I really wanted to learn to do realistic clay or wood sculptures and my attempts without a 3D print I deemed weren't that good. I'd need realiable access to 3D data from every angle and in different poses from which to practice and learn to use as an accurate realistic digital 3D sculpture to 3D print to copy off for my real practice in clay or wood for comparison's sake: and to ultimately save time and money (messed up wood & clay is expensive). I have a feeling to get the details at the level needed though I'd need to 3D print at least 12" print and maybe even only a bust at 12" and those are very expensive.

It's different set of criteria if you are doing a toon caricature for fun though.

There is a thread somewhere in these DAZ forums Commons of people's 3D prints that they have done of their DAZ characters (not selfies) and posted pictures of in that thread and in most cases looked very nicely printed and painted. I think they were paying about $700 for a 12" print. There are none that I remember of real celebrities or other real people though from which you could judge the accuracy of the 3D work in that manner.
