OT - disaster avoided, mouse needed a new battery

Sigh of relief.

My computer cursor was freezing.

I was worried that a Windows update was incompatible with Daz3D software, or that my computer was in trouble, or something expensive would need to be done.  Turns out it was just the battery for my wireless mouse.  Problem solved with a painless replacement with a standard double-A battery.

I always have two in the mouse, two in the recharger right on the side table.

They are evil, and know when to die at the most inappropriate possible times.

  • I use a corded gaming mouse at my normal station. Precise enough, and does not need the batteries.

I simply got fed up with the batteries.

The Logitech M570 trackball can run for months on a single AA, and warns you when battery gets low, so no big problem with that one.

Yeah, my Logitech M510 uses two AA batteries and just keeps on ticking, and ticking, and ticking...  yes  So much so that when it finally did need new batteries after a year or so, it took me a while to realize what the problem was.  Unlike my Amazon FireTV-Stick that seems to need new batteries several times a year.  (It's all that menu browsing trying to find something worth watching.)
