The installers are for the older version I just checked them with my old ones I had backed up on to a disk months ago.

The separate zip of camera presets is new.

DAZ never made installers for the new cameras it looks like.

Something is really weird because mine are the other way around. I just downloaded....

    IM00013926-02_AtmosphericEffectsCamerasforDS34.zip - 2.39mb

It only contains the old versions (No Easy Volume Cam).

    But then installed 13926_AtmosphericEffectsCamerasWinx64_1.0_trx.exe - 10.3mb
to a new, test directory and it contained the new Easy Volume Cam.

But in the end you did get the updated version installed okay Jay_NOLA?

Now PAs sometimes get earlier QA versions of the installers so it is possible I have a different version. If anyone else is not finding the new files in the Mac or Windows installers please post here to help track down the issue.

Just sent you quick PM reply back.

I think DAZ didn't change the installer version number.

I'm showing an Easy Volume preset in DAZ Studio.

The separate zip IM00013926-02_AtmosphericEffectsCamerasforDS34.zip is showing file dates of 3-5-2014 for when it was updated, but doesn't have all the content the installer does. (It i confusing because of the 3-5-2014 files to tell if it is newer or not.)

    Thanks for the help.

The separate zip is for DS3 and DS4.0 -- the DS4.5 version comes in installers because the Easy Volume camera has actual shader code, not just presets.

Installing through DIM worked properly, but the package seems to have installed to a new location rather than overwriting the old.

Old location: Library:Cameras:Age of Armour:Atmosphere Cameras
New location: Library: Camera Presets: Age of Armour: Atmosphere Cameras

The new location has the same files as the old plus the new EZ Volume and Foglight presets. Can I just manually delete the old location since DIM seems to now be installing/uninstalling the new location?

Yes, you can delete the old location. Not sure why DIM didn't uninstall yours, it did for me.

ETA: Is it possible you had installed it with a stand-alone installer before?

It would be, except I had done a complete remove and reinstall not too long ago and reinstalled everything to a new location using DIM for whatever I could.

I have uninstalled the old Atmospheric Cameras, downloaded a new updated 13926_AtmosphericEffectsCamerasWinx64_1.0_trx.exe
from the Product Library, installed it and the Easy Volume Camera and the other new scripts are there.
I have compared the versions of the installer file, the new one is 10876260 bytes long, while the old file downloaded 3 days ago
    was only around 6 MBytes.

I have played even more with the Easy Volume camera and came up with the another render.
This time I have used two ASL and three AAL. Once I have started flagging surfaces, I like this camera even more.
Rendering Time: 3 minutes 24 seconds

All I can say is the easy camera is awesome and renders really fast even on very Hi-Quality renders.

For a while I thought I had a big problem, all I could get was a scene rendering black until I realised I had progressive rendering on. Switched to normal rendering and it came good.

I'm so happy to hear everyone is getting good results.

Sorry about the installer confusion and them being placed into Camera Presets instead of Cameras. I'll try to update the user guide later today or tomorrow so people don't tear their hair out trying to figure out where they went.

Right now though, I'm working on a simple video overview of the camera.

Interesting! I keep forgetting DS has progressive rendering haha.

The older installer didn't just have presets but installed files into the program folder along with files into the content folder.

I ended up last night doing an uninstall and reinstall to check somethings.

And installed the older version just into my DS3 & the newer version into DS4.

The newer installer is a .trx file and the older one is a .ds one. (Didn't catch this yesterday) If you had uninstallers created the newer one for the newer one has a different name than the older one if you look at the start menu to find the uninstallers. The older one has "for DAZ Studio" tacked on to the end. The newer one has if it 32 or 64 version added to it in ().

The newer version is working perfectly in DS4 and my older version is working in DS3. having no conflicts between the 2.

This is a fantastic update, just installed and located them! Just need to find the time to get to use them! Thank you AoA.

By the way Jabba, thank you for your great YouTube videos on these lights and cameras. They've really helped, even though the documentation is easy to get through, I'm much more of a visual learner

    Cheers

I got a response to my support request to fix the readme file. It has been corrected. That should help new purchasers find the cameras.

Thanks for reporting it and thanks to DAZ for correcting it.

Sorry the Easy Volume Camera was not finished in time to help with that render but hopefully it will make things a lot easier for future projects... Or maybe even going back and redoing old ones. I took a little fun time this afternoon to redo some several year old scenes replacing the DS default lights with advanced lights and using the new easy volume camera. It was pretty rewarding thinking "Now this is how I wanted it to look."

...I plan to try it on a copy of that scene. Will have to remove the Ubervolume cones first.

Yep, that's the one. I still need to add a little blurb and a promo image to the store page reflecting the update and bonus camera.

Finally had a chance to try the EZ cam out. Amazing. Final render took about 3 hours, but only because I needed to crank the quality settings up to about 90 to get rid of some unattractive grain. At 80 it took about 40 minutes and at the default 50 test render took about 15 min full sized, or 5 min for a 500 x 700 thumbnail.

MASSIVE improvement over 'all night and still running when I got up in the morning'.

Plus the ability to flag only certain lights? Version 2 was going straight in my cart anyway, but now it'll be hitting it so fast it'll create a sonic boom, virtual action or not.

    Anywho:

EZ Volume Cam, 1 AAL, 3 ASL. G2F with custom body/face shape, skin MRL Riley (Rendo, shaders and face texture modified), Hoodlums for V4 (Rendo), bow arrow and quiver from Future Wilderness, The Dead Forest, Ramos Hair (Rendo, all except bangs hidden).

That's great to hear! Faster is gooder :) Nice image too!

Did you flag the spotlights using the intensity method or the foglight category? Also, did you use primitive hitmode for the lights that are coming from behind? I only ask because category and primitive modes are significantly faster, unless the ambient light is set to foglight also. If that's not what you did already, then the render time might be cut from 3 hours down to 45 minutes or so.

Yep, I had the lights all set to primitive hitmode and just flagged the skin on the face to use shader hitmode since both the hair and eyelashes used transmaps, and used the category foglight to tag the spotlight I wanted volume on. The time increase only kicked in once I upped the quality to 90, and since the documentation said that it would increase time exponentially, I expected that. Unfortunately there were a couple of overy grainy areas near the hips and knees at 80% quality (which did take about 45 minutes) so I had to increase it. Double checking the scene file, the strength was also set to 20 instead of the default 10, which probably also contributed to the render time.

I'm simply loving EZ Volume at the moment. Its making a massive difference to my renders. Thank you!

Had a go at accepting the flag light settings of the ADL and cranked up the quality to create a light shaft. Used Uber planes on the torches and did use Uberlighting for ambience only because I've not fully got y head round where best to place AAl.

    Can't thank you enough

    Cheers

Is there a PDF for the updated camera ?

I have yet to try the EZ parts, but am really excited to get started, but have come to rely on AoA's thoughtful inclusion of pdf docs.

My download exe only seems to install a link to "online" documentation. At least that's all I'm finding, and without ready 24/7 internet

access, for me "online documentation" means "no documentation."

The pre update Atmospheric camera has a pdf, and all the AoA light sets have pdf's, and these are a tremendous ready reference for

me in learning to use these tools, or revisiting if it's been a while.

So, is there an update pdf, and where can I find it?

This Camera and the new Advanced lights and Subsurface shaders etc, have totally remade the game for me. In terms of what I can

accomplish, and the time it takes to get there, I live in a much more exciting, and EFFECTIVE, creative universe because of AoA. Sure

appreciate the time and thought that's gone into these resources.

I'm glad to hear the lights and cameras are helping :)

There should be an updated PDF for the cameras in your DS ReadMe's folder.

Another option is to save the online version. Most browsers have the option "Save Page As..." which will save the page and all the images that go with it. Then you can just double click it like a PDF and it opens locally in your browser.

The online version is just much much easier to update. Any PDF changes require all the product files be resent to quality assurance for testing, then new DIM and EXE installers are made. Plus, then everything has to be downloaded again by the end user. Additionally, PDF doesn't allow me to do other things like add tutorial videos, dynamic examples and such.
