White spots on model face

MuzMelMuzMel Posts: 76

Hey guys. Was just testing out a Capt Marvel render, and there are random white spots on the face. Never happened before with other models. Model base is Gen 3 Alouise. Ive Attached a pic, would appreciate any help on how to fix it

Also if you have similar shorter hair recommends that are more thicker, please let me know!

I think someone mentioned that if you're using an HDRI for lighting then making it not-visible in your render settings can fix that white spots problem.

That looks like shine that hasn't fully rendered yet to me. Have you tried letting it complete the render?

It looks to me like "metal flakes".

Ah this was stopped at 80%. The more the render went on, the worse it got.

Render Settings > Environment > Draw Dome > Off

Where did you get the character from?  Not in the DAZ store.

Not a fix in all cases, but maybe check to see if Spectral Rendering is on.  That can cause problems in some lighting situations.

Had it right. Setting "Mettalic Flakes Weight" and "Top Coat Weight" and "Glossy Layered Weight" to 0, the white spots are completely gone. I will play around with these settings till I can find one where the skin still has some sheen, but no random white spots

I use Metallic flakes to make glossy droplets that look like natural sweat or perspiration on skin.  It looks EXACTLY like sweat under a bright HDRI beach scene.  "Sheen" may be a different look accomplished a different way because  most often a sheen on skin is just the natural oils present on skin.  Also, on a real human, if you exfoliate the skin on the face to remove all the dead skin flakes, you get another kind of shine (which I don't know how to duplicate).
