I'm still fuzzy about DAZ 3D EULA... Can anybody help me check if I'm getting it right?
I read Daz 3D Eula for few times and some of discussions in daz 3d forum.
But I'm not still quite sure about if I'm getting it right.
Maybe because I'm not a native speaker in english I guess...
So... I thought it would be better to ask questions which can be answered either yes or no, so that I can get a clear answer about what I'm confused about.
I would be really grateful if anybody could check if I'm getting it right.
As far as I know...
1) It is not allowed to sell any form of 3D mesh data(obj, fbx) based on Daz figure even if the mesh has been edited in a unique form. (edited by Zbrush, Blender, combination of morph assets from daz store etc)
correct/wrong
2) It is not allowed to sell the edited mesh even if you have any type of license.
correct/wrong
3) It is allowed to sell your original duf. files 'only' on daz market. It is not allowed to sell duf. files elswhere.
correct/wrong
4) You have to get license for selling duf files on daz market
correct/wrong
5) You have to get license for selling rendered result(2D) of daz studio.
correct/wrong
I'm quite sure about 1)~3) is correct but fuzzy about 4) and 5)
Again it would be really grateful if anybody could check if I'm getting it right.
Thanks

Hi Oscar, I hope this helps out:
1) Correct. You cannot sell 3D meshes purchased here elsewhere. However, you can create a new original character based on the genesis base to sell. You simply cannot include the genesis base, so you need people to know they require the base for your character to work/apply to. Merchant Resources morphs, however, may allow you to sell an original character which has said MR morphs baked in. Though for merchant resources you would need to check each license. Understand, not all morphs are merchant resources.
2) Correct. The interactive license allows you to use the 3D mesh in a game. However, you still cannot sell the mesh since you aren't the owner of it.
3) Wrong. You may sell anywhere so long as you are abiding by points 1 and 2. Meaning you are selling things you have created from scratch and/or using merchant resources and abiding by their licensing rules/instructions. You cannot, however, include other people's work and sell it. Instead, you would need to sell something and explain to the customers your product requires "x" product to work (which they need to owe or purchase). Example this texture add-on. Notice how it says it requires the base product for it to work, which already informs the customer it doesn't include the base product just textures for it. Or this product, which requires you to owe the Daz Dragon 3.
4) Wrong. The two extra licenses you can get are for including the 3D mesh in a game and for printing 3D figures AFAIK.
5) Wrong. The 2D images you produce with DAZ assets you purchased are your own and you can use them however you want, even commercially.
Edited to add examples and format the text (because my phone just adds it as a chunk of text).
On 5, there is a partial exception for the old Anne Marie Goddard Digital Clone for Victoria 3 - that is noted on the product page.
Hi FenixPhoenix! Thank you very much for your kind and detailed answer :) Now it's almost clear to me! But I'm afraid still little bit unsure about one point above quote (sorry for my poor english,,). Do you mean I can sell my mesh if it has originality in its shape by being editted with other tools like zbrush?
Oh I see! Thank you for letting me know, Richard :)
No, you can't sell the mesh, but you can sell a character preset or shaping preset.
Oh, I had a big misunderstaning,, Thank you for fixing me, Fixmypcimike :)
Anna-Marie Goddard. Talk about a name from the Golden Age of, well, let's just leave it at the Golden Age. If ever someone was a candiate for a clone...
You can use ZBrush etc. to create a new morph, for the base shape or for an already moprhed figure if you use Reverse Deformations in Morph Loader Pro t split your chnages to a new morph on top of the existing morphs, save that as a morph asset (File>Save As>Support Assets>Morph Asset) and sell that, plus a preset to apply it and any other needed morphs (whch the user will then need to own). You still can't sell the modified figue mesh, or a morph that incorporates both your own morphs and the work of others.
Thanks to your explanation, now I can clearly understand what is allowed and what is not. Thanks a lot for your help, Richard! :)
And thank you all!
