I guess it's appeal process time then... or throw in the towel time...

I was looking forward to seeing what you were coming up with, but of course it's your interest level in this vs other stuff that's the determining factor.

well now I finished what I was doing with the Xurge people

(not using that, was just test as was working on another video with them that is done)

I am trying another scene with the chroma shots using strictly DAZ content

no appeal needed, was the conditions but the blocking from Canada annoys me as have a friend there I want to share it with

is Carrara of course because sorry DAZ studio and I don't animate well together

at least I am not using iClone, Unreal or Twinmotion .... or Poser wink

You did good job Wendy its a shame about the content claim. it was what I feared would happen  . since the covid-19 stuff YouTube been slamming everything it seems.

Been seeing all kinds of her videos here in Canada, so content in Canada should not be a problem.

Followed the tutorial, have no idea what went wrong but this is a first, spot render, the plane does NOT show up, anyhow as I rather doubt I'll be the only encountering this decided to post.

Think I'll go back to the ol' fashioned way, using Pinnacle to glue together .pngs and backgrounds.

    so much for this.png

I have been watching Grimes music videos on Youtube and am actually very impressed.

She honestly does not get enough publicity, unlike many manufactured poppetes she is a songwriter, composer, producer and an artist in every way.

That's probably why I was unfamiliar with her stuff, they promote all the prefabricated churned out  assembly line singers.

Oh don't worry, she's well known enough. She was famous before the whole crazy boyfriend that invented Tesla thing.

She's involved in Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack too.

Grimes is pretty big but I think it's true that she isnt really part of the music industrial complex (she doesnt need to be).  I would say that Grimes has been mainstream for many years though, in spite of that.  I remember her songs being in the credits for that HBO show Girls like 4 or 5 years ago for example.  And I remember two different people recommending me Genesis (no relation) when the music video came out.

In a different but similar way, artists like Lana Del Rey can be massive but still never get radio play either.

I quite like Lana Del Rey too.

I will admit I stopped listening to popular music long ago because all the Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift etc crap sounds utterly uninspiring to me and it never ceases to amaze me how they have such a massive loyal fanbase.

I never got into the kiddie pop music  like Taylor Swift or Rihanna, & Miley Cyrus. makes want to hurl. not much of a fan of rap music either.

I'm a old school rocker. .so I like that type music, some new stuff thats come out like

MOLLY HATCHET "Devil's Canyon (live)" still one of my favorite CD's came out last year.

I love listen to Dudley Taft, you can actually dance & sing along with music like this.

love Suzi Quatro ,No Soul/No Control".

Well how can you not like Lana.

I think it's kind of sad that many people, particularly from older generations, give up on modern music just because some of it is bad.  What a deprived existence!

Do you play any instruments? smiley I think a lot of us older generations like music that is not been electronically manipulated , being able to sing with out dichotomy or autotune is important.

For me its just rather hard to get people up and dance or sing along when play guitar to Miley Cyrus or the other of todays kiddie pop music and most of these groups do not translate well when being done by cover bands for entertainment .

Some of older generation like me we play in bands and play a lot of cover tunes out for entertainment and alot of these tunes are not friendly to anyone  but the artist that wrote them when they are in a studio, they maybe okay for a Dj  to play.  but try playing Taylor swifts Shake it off on a guitar in a bar. you properly have potatoes and tomato's hurled at you at in the places we play..lol

Old school style rock is more socially friend for cover bands and people that actually play instruments than kiddie pop music that does not translate well on stage with out all the electronic voice autotune,  I'm not taking anything away from these artist, really good for them if people buy it.  Most of them though when you go to their concerts are lipsynching most of the time like J-lo and Janet Jackson. I don't think that is real to me. though i do like lady gaga

this is a cover demo I did all tracks myself on.  kind of fun .

Not deprived at all,  I had a chilhood, surrounded by music  a teenagehood even more so as my senior brother was an early electronincs whizz kid, At Vox Ron designed the most iconic British organ ever made. The slimline Vox Continental MK1 was his idea and Mac his boss did the woodwork from that prototype  He also built me a record player, a portable record player that I could take to my friends houses and show off with.

Maybe they could be loaded in Google Drive? [Nope, do not do this!]

Wow! You have talent! This is fascinatring and the only one I've ever watched all the way through. Most bore me after the first short bit, including the original.

    First off, very nice!

If you are looking for any constructive criticism, I'd suggest maybe moving the baby head a bit to one side later on in the video, so we can see a bit more of Grimes in the background, to make it a bit more interesting.  Maybe have the baby head facing towards the middle of the screen at say a 45 degree angle so we can mostly still see the baby's face, but implying that he's watching her.  Just a thought that popped into my head while I was watching it.

Also, when the delayed frames thing is used, maybe just have a few of the 'tail end' frames fade back out, so as to suggest flowing motion a bit better, was another thought I had.

If you are 'done done' though, yeah very nice!  Waaaaaaaay above my skill level!  And a lot cooler than most of the other Grimes Art Kit videos I watched.  I'm in the same camp as barbuit there on most of the other art kit videos that I watched.

I suppose that could be an issue then.  I suppose you could try to use a Daz baby with some lip sync action and pale blue skin and exaggerated features, but not those Genesis 8 ones, they are kinda creepy IMHO.  Actually, creepy baby heads might fit the theme...

It's your 'baby' though, and it was definitely interesting to watch.

Yes I'm in Canada and so is Grimes. Now, according to her post IF you have put the tags in as requested, your videos should not be being blocked due to copyright {unless there's something else in them we don't know about}.

    From:

    4. Upload your version to YouTube with “You’ll Miss Me When I’m Not Around” in the title and include #GrimesArtKit in the description. All uploads using the song will be automatically approved.

So if this is what you have done, then you certainly have a case to appeal that claim made by whoever against you on Youtube.com. It's better that they get the matter cleared up for the sake of many.

Fwiw Grimes has been California-based for 7+ years. So if Canada presents a particular problem where copyrights are concerned, there's no reason why she'd know about it unless someone there lets her know.

Well then hopefully somebody who has twitter or whatever like she does, maybe informs her. I don't. I have no idea as to why there should be any copyright restrictions for her music on one video in Canada when all the others are posted. So hopefully it's a glitch that might be remeded.
