The things is, I can use the transfer utility but the hair is too long, when I try to do it, i use the (shoulder length hair) template, and the the part of hair that is after the shoulder just gets messy.

Ues the general Transfer Utility, without picking a template - you may need to reduce or remove the influence of the arms, and it it's really long the legs, depending on how you want it to behave. The templates generally have a subset of the main figure's bones and may have additional bones too, to give a rig more appropriate for whatever theya re designed for, but you don't have to make use of them. For your own use, as long as you are not going to share the model in any way, you cana lso use an existing figure with the desired rigging as the source rather than the base figure.

DAZ should start making a hair rig that's included with the G8F/G8M base that is seperate from the body rig that transfers to modeled hair.

Hey richard, thanks for your response. what do you mean by using an existing figure as the source rather than the base figure?

If there is, in the case, a hair for Genesis 8 Female (or whichever figure you are working with) that is about the right shape and rig, then load that and when you use the Transfer Untility click the Source button and pick the hair, not the Genesis figure.

Just a silly question, wouldn't it be just easier ,and give you better results by parenting the hair piece to the characters head instead? . Parenting the hair would leave all the original morphs and style dials in tact. I always found transferring or autotfitting a hair peice to a characters it was not designed for looses its dial morph values and in some cases autofit will warp the hair so fits the characters shape. and completely destroys the blows dials and shape morphs . This is particularly true for longer hair that is being autofit or being transfer to a different generation character.  If it was me I would try parenting the hair and fitting it to the head rather than trying to fit-to the head with a transfer utility or autofit .. Its just works better for me that way. if you ever noticed that a lot if not most of Aprilish hairs sets are parented to characters . which is how i got the idea for this practice.
