dforce hair

Hi -

If something says dforce hair, how does it work?
When I press simulate, the dress does what it needs but not the hair.

    Check the hair for dforce settings that need to be applied first, some come with those. Also make sure the hair isn't intersecting with other parts of the body as this will mess up the drape as well. Hair will also usually take longer to drape than clothing since it is more detailed.

    What hair are you trying to simulate?

    Some hair (and some clothes) have the dForce settings as a separate selection for various reasons, so check for those in that hair's folder. If that is not the case you may need to come back and specify which hair is the problem.

    Will all the hair say DForce? Looking through the DAZ Store for each hair item I have trying figure out which is DForce and which is not. Thanks

    There’s a filter for “software” in the Daz store, and one of the options is “dForce hair”.

    That depends on how you mean that. dForce hair can only be created by PAs, because it requires special tools that aren’t available to the general public. However, you can apply dForce cloth settings to non-dForce hair, though I can’t speak to what percentage of hairs this actually works well on.

    Yes, the hair will (usually) have dForce in the name - though some may be modelled hair using dForce Cloth, rather than true dForce Hair. We can't make dForce Hair, we can apply a dForce cloth modifier to hair models but the results will vary - at the very least you are likely to need to do something to anchor the base of each part.     Running simulation with the bunny hair which is dforce - see a big difference in how it is up in the air as the girl is dropping in the floor. The other hair did not do this.
