everything turned white instead of grey

  Sometimes opening various scenes [of the products] does that.

  Easy fix though, a couple of methods.

  Window > Workspace > Select Layout ...
  n.b. one can save a layout too. Saved layouts will appear then on this same popup.

  Window > Style > Customize Style ... #6 Viewports, to select a colour.
