Tried making some boots but posing is only partially working

Hi,

EDIT NVM i got it all figured out and it works fine now.

I made a pair of boots using the steps in the link below but only difference is its for a G8 instead of a G3.  If i turn on the joints for the boots in joint editor i can rotate the bones.  But if i select the figure and go to the posing tab i select the 'knee up" slider and the boots dont move.  Also if i try and put a pose on the figure the boots dont move either.  Did i miss a step or are the steps completely different for G8?
