It seems that the install files of the SpyStuff Props and Poses for Genesis 8 are corrupt, because i get an error message when i try to unzip them.

What is the error? Is this a manual download and unzip (and if so using which archive tool) or are you uisng Install Manager or DS?

File is corrupted during the extraction. I used the manual download and tried to unzip the files with WinZip.

Does the message justs ay corrupted or does it give more information? I assume you have deleted the zip and tried redownloading? Have you tried using a different browser (or Install Manager)?

I just downloaded and extracted both zips (manual install) to try them out and they worked fine. As Richard says, try clearing your cache and redownlaoding.

I tried it again and got the same error message.

Hmm, the zip itself isn't the issue (as it opened fine for me) - it must be either a corrupted download (which can get cached, so even if you download again you'll get the same result unless you rename the file / use a different browser / clear the cache fully) - which zip program are you using to open it? (I can't read the error message - is it unzipping but with errors or just refusing to unzip because of the error?)

Thank you very much for trying to help me!

I downloaded the files again after clearing the cache and with a different browser, but the error message is the same. It seems that either a file is damaged or missing.

Have yiou ried using a different utility (e.g. 7Zip), or downloading through Install Manager?

The named file has just a size of 0 bytes. Some Unzip applications consider that as a corrupt file, but it's just a file with no content (related to the two images with the message where to find the materials).

If your content folder contains 619 files in 106 folders the zip file is O.K.

You haven't mentioned DIM, are you able to use it? I did and my copy installed perfectly.

Would it be possible to remove the file with 0 bytes?

You can report it, Daz does uusally replace them with non-empty files since they can cause issues (though I'm surprised WinZip is affected) - but in 7he meantime both Install Manager and 7Zip have no issues  with 0 byte files (it's just there to make its thumbnail visible in the library, it is deliberately an empty file).

In fact 7Zip reports it as an error, too. Just does not show a message box ;-)

7Zip neverheless extracts the files - though I don't knoww hat they are doing in the data folder, since that isn't a user-facing location (that may be why QA didn't remove/replace the 0 byte .duf file).

^This is one of the files that is shown in different locations - the user facing files are the .djl files, which link to the main file. That was put in the data folder under the advice of another PA so that users don't move it and break the link (I often manually install and move / rename folders for example).

I didn't know the .duf could be 0-bytes (I figured there'd be SOME overhead at least). Do you know what I can put in there that wouldn't be misread by DS and cause an error?

Just save a really simple preset, and I think you cdl then delete everything bar the opening block with the file name, author etc.

Ok, so I can use something that's commented out in the code - thanks.

And sorry to Wizard1200, I didn't realise this was an issue with some zip programs. I'll remember to add this in the future.

No worries. Could you perhaps update the product to work with more zip programs?

Since this belongs to Daz now (It's a Daz Original), I think you'd need to file a ticket with them first (if they ask me to update it for them, I will do, but I can't submit an update for a product that's not mine). They'd probably just update it themselves so it'd be quicker that way anyway. In the meantime, you can still use the product by ignoring the zip error message (does the file still show up in DS?)
