Has anybody thought to make a new born baby, I have Millennium Baby 3.0 and looked at the Baby for Genesis but they look like they are a few months old and I would love to see a new born or more realistic baby with wrinkles, tears, drooling ect Would also love to see face expressions for it...screaming crying ect Hand poses, clothes I am sure more can be done in this department.

Yeah...more could be done, but there has never been all that much of a demand for it. So it comes down to economics...if it's not likely to sell, it won't get made.

I made one using Zev0's Growing Up morphs and Genesis child. People thought it looked like a preemie, so I fattened it up some for later use.

I was disappointed in the genesis baby personally. There is something odd about the face that doesn't look right to me, and the lack of good baby clothing and poses, just add to the fact that it seems like a product which didn't get a lot of attention- which is too bad. I'd love a more realistic infant with accompanying poses and clothing.

I think a new born and all the accessories would sell big time and there is so much that could be done with it, I hope they at least think about it :)

I've just tracked down the scene file for that image and no its not Genesis its Kids 4, its older than I thought
    here are the dial spins,
from what I can remember there was some scaling done on individual parts as well, and a bit of post work on the image to cover some mesh breaks.
I've done a baby with Genesis as well I'll see if I can find an image.

Given that items for children seem pretty uncommon as it is, items for babies, and indeed babies themselves, are about as rare as rainbow unicorn droppings. Still, as mentioned earlier, you can make a passable baby by using the Growing Up morphs in combination with the Basic Child morph and a few weight morphs. One thing I did like about the Genesis baby was the skin texture which was supplied. It's genuinely quite nice for a newborn.

Well, here's my attempt at a Genesis baby using the growing up morphs. Not exactly a newborn though. I'd say she's at least a couple of months old here. Still, it goes to show what can be done if you're willing to play with the available morphs.

Expert opinion...from my wife, 15 yr OB nurse.

Body is younger than the head. Body comes in about at about 9 months to 1 yr old and the head is about school age, but 'looks' younger because of there being no hair.

    Eyes are too small.
    Nose is too long.
    Eyebrows are too 'there'...

    This one...

The body is in the 4-6 month range and the face/head is in the toddler range. Part of the face problem is the eyebrows. And part is the face needs to be rounder.

A texture without eyebrows will go a long way to helping things.

Thank your wife for the feedback. I don't have kids, so I lack the personal experience with this age group.

    She'll appreciate it...

She's probably seen more babies in the past 15 yrs than the lot of us will see in a life time. I should probably teach her how to make morphs and have her make a baby morph for Genesis...then we'd know it was right. :cheese:

Has anybody thought to make a new born baby,

I came into this topic already with my eyebrows raised, then seeing this very first part and I was fully prepared to say: "I'm quite sure a great deal of us have already done that." :)

Here's a Genesis baby, I'm still not happy with it, it looks like a doll to me. Babies are very difficult its difficult enough to try and get a realistic image of an adult out of CG, children are harder and babies near impossible.

The challenge I see with babies is making them look too adult. The renaissance pictures of baby Jesus with Madonna and child are a prime example often looked preternaturally old... Like a little person. This is what the 3d babies look like too me... Sort of off. (Not picking on Jesus or making religious commentary, just on the challenges that people have with illustrating kids has also been a historical one.

A lot has to do with expression, a lot has to do with pose, and the proportions of the infant body. Kids that look like they are using adult poses can also be a problem.

Garments are another problem area. There needs to be better diapers, more skin tones, some hair whips, some expression, and better poses.

Here's the modified version...a little tweaking. With this, I think I've reached the lower limit with the free morphs I've been using (RamWolff's and the DieTrying ones for Genesis). It, according to my wife comes in at about 4 months old.

It's a combination of those mentioned morph packs and Basic Child, with additional scaling. I know I can go younger from here, with either a custom sculpt or additional morphs. I'll probably explore the sculpt route, after I get a couple of other things finished up...the only dependency the sculpt will have would be 'Basic Child'...

When I do get this uploaded, there will be a fit for Aprlysh's Baybee hair, if I can get it to behave correctly (having scaling issues right now) and the diaper.
