    Just that.  WHAT HAPPENED?

    I haven't noticed any downtime.

I bought a gift card just before 8am MDT and saw some hiccups as things moved on the site, didn't think to much of it. Set up my next cart, was holding it to see if a Flash Sale might come during the day. Then I went to work and after that, walked the dog. Checked the site, no sale, decided to check the forum and saw few updates to threads. If they went down that might explain it.

I'm pretty sure it was the squirrels... I've been hearing chatter that they will make their move soon... where else but DAZ3D for them to begin their nefarious scheme...

    Beware.

Some people are taught not to use tautology perhaps.

Any report that you may have heard of our imminent attack, is premature.

The only people who worry about squirrels are nuts.  On the other hand, why is aren't more people concerned about the fact that western civilization has handed control over our seasons to the groundhogs?  What's next?  Replacing the Atomic Clock with a cabybara with a sundial?

Squirrelantine is a semi-fine liquour used in fancy cocktails like a Nuthatch and Missisipi Roadkill.  Do not askwhat's in it.

The act of quarantining squirrels has classically been refered to "sending them to the nesting home."

Interesting that you should mention that... due to budget cuts, the Doomsday Clock was replaced by a Doomsday Hourglass in early January...

    httpps://www.ccnn.com/2020/01/11/science-and-bs/holy-crap-the-doomsday-clock-is-now-an-hourglass-run-by-a-giant-rat/index.httlm

The Doomsday Hourglass was maintained by a Capybara named "Burt" but he recently quit over a dispute involving a lack of sanitizing wipes in the workplace. It is not inconceivable that Burt might seek employment with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and Stuff in Boulder, Colorado, should the current Atomic Clock (technically called a Cesium Fountain Clock), NIST-F1 run out of atoms or need to be replaced with a sundial. Realistically, that would be the least crazy thing to have happened recently, so I'm looking forward to Burt getting this new gig at least it should be entertaining.

P.S. Please stop clicking the news link, it's fake.

The squirrels in my yard tend to act like squirrels from other yards, so basically they all act like squirrels.  Something very nutty going on.

Yes, but the order to put a question in the body of the post AND in the title came directly from the Department of Redundancy Department, so compliance is expected, and also anticipated.

We used to have a squirrel that visited regularly when we still lived at Chohole Gate Lodge that did circus tricks   To try and stopp the pesky things stealing the bird food we had strung a single strand of garden wire from the trelllis to the apex of one of the greenhouses.  This squirrel used to do a tight rope act across the the feeders and then hang by his feet an steal the seed and eat whilst upside down.

I knew someone who built a squirrel-sized maze. First he blocked the entrance and put food in front of it. Then he moved the partition back and put the food 6 inches into the maze. In a month all the local squirrels could run the maze. It was quite a sight.

Squirrels seem to be amazing athletes... until you see one fall out of a tree.  According to my ex, who worked for a wildlife rehab facitity that "repaired" a lot of squirrels, they lay out "safe paths" of branches that they've memorized, so they can tear around in the trees at high speed. That's why they do that "squirrely" thing of freezing and twitching back and forth when they're on the gorund and a threat is approaching - they're trying to figure out which way to the nearest safe route that they've memorized instead of simply running. And apparently that works out okay for them often enough... until one of the branches on that route breaks and they don't know about it... and they just run out into empty air.  I was in my front yard a few weeks ago when one suddenly hit the ground in front of me with a huge THUD after it fell at least 20 feet... I figured it was dead, but between their light weight and the way their skeletons are made, the dumb thing just got to it's feet with an "I meant to do that" expression and ran back up into the tree.

We used to have 2 terriers, border terriers,  and they got great fun from standing between squirrel and trees, which were at the back of the garden or outside in  the park, which was surrunded by a 12ft high brick wall; part of which also formed one side of our garden walls. Squirrels can climb brick walls  but not so quickly as they can climb trees, expecially with a border terrier trying to grab their tails.
