Some good face transfer programs?

Hi all,

I have tried Face Transfer and HeadShop 10 for putting real faces onto a Genesis 8.

However, it seldom works for woman. Once there are a few hairs nex to her head of the lighting is a bit off I get the most stranges output from the programs.
Its truelly horror...

Now my question follows; is there any really good face transfer program out there which can interpret some hair nex to faces and can deal when the lighitng is a bit off?
The programs above only work when you basically have a photo which comes close to a neutral expression portrait.

Thanks in advance.

You could try Facegen, I belive there is a demo available, so you can try before you buy. All these programs need good quality pictures to work from, and Facegen is no exception. From my experiance it copes well with uneven lighting, but any hair covering the face will most likely be incorporated into the fsce texture ( difficult to see how a program could get around rhis ). A big plus for Facegen is that you can choose any body texture that you own as the base that the face texture is applied to, so if you have , for example, a photo of an older persons face, you can have facegen apply that on top of an older person body texture that you have.

That is pretty much how all of them work, you need good source material to get the best results.

  • Alright thanks! I'll look into FaceGen. Thanks for the feedback.

  • HeadShop can mirror better half of face over to the obscured one. Pls. upload the picture that you have problems with

Don't be afraid to use Photoshop on your source pics to deal with minor inconveniences, such as strands of hair and such.  You might be able to use curves, hue/saturation, etc. to achieve a more 'neutral' skin tone as well, if the pic you are working with has a lighting tint to it or some such.

Don't overdo it, but yeah judicious use of the clone stamp tool and such can improve the situation.

What would be *really* useful, is a face-generator that allows using two or more images, each taken from a different angle. So, one with a front view and another with a sideview, for example. And if the developer of the tool is really up for it, a third image taken from above as well. This current "single image" technology is nice in theory, but I'm far from convinced by the result of any of those products.
