2nd graphics card and more RAM?

What will improve my DAZ Studio renders more while working with large projects with a lot of geometry and also needing faster render times?
Adding a second Nvidia 1080ti graphics card or quadrupling my RAM from 16GB to 64GB?
I already have a 12 core 24 thread I9 cpu.
How will each hardware upgrade (additional graphics card and additional RAM) specifically help my projects?

To be blunt, both.
Using the second 1080ti as a render only card will improve render times, and increasing system ram will allow larger scenes to be created and rendered.
If you're actually maxing out that 1080ti's vram, at render, you'll need a lot of system ram.
In my personal case i can hit 32+GB of system ram, and still be within the 5-6GB of vram of my render cards.
The bigger consideration is if you're buying new or used and your budget. Used, go with the 1080ti, new 2080ti, the prices are pretty close on newegg for the two cards, but the 2080ti is going to provide faster renders, in general.
I was looking at cards and hit a titanX on ebay for $400 12g.. much more within my price range... and one of my first renders with it would have blown out on an 11g card.. because I hit 11800m of 12200.

I have 64g of ram and even with a couple dazs, photoshop, 3dmax and 20 facebook windows I seldom get past 48 of it.

One thing to be aware of with the Titan x is there are two versions.
Maxwell and Pascal.
Physically they can be identical, and the specs are almost identcal.
The pascal version has more cores, 3584 and is faster 1417ghz, compared to the maxwell's 3072@1ghz.
Since alan brought up vram, if you don't mind a perfomance hit, but want a lot of ram at a cheaper price, Tesla M40, 24GB Vram, 3072cuda.
The m40's are about $100 less than titan x's on ebay.
Just tossing that out there.
