Metadata Help

ReneWReneW Posts: 151

I've found several male items (clothing, hair, etc.) that ended up showing in the female category.  I've heard you can edit the metadata to fix this, but I don't know how.  Put in a ticket for it a few months ago, but I haven't seen updates for it yet. I've heard you can do it yourself.  Does anyone have step-by-step instructions on how to do it so I can fix it myself?

What's an example of the items you're having issues with?

These male items are showing up in the Female Smart Content rather than in Male Smart Content:

    • Justify Hair for G8M
    • dForce H&C Mandarin Collar Shirt for G8M
    • dForce Latin Dancer Outfit for G8M
    • Winter Dweller for G8M

I think there are also a few others.  Is there a way to get them to show in the Male Smart Content instead?

I've confirmed on all four products that the "compatiblity" setting for the wearables/hair set to Genesis 8 Female.
It would be best to report the problem and have DAZ fix the compatibility to Genesis 8 Male.

    To make the fix yourself.

    1. If you installed with DIM, go to the folder containing the wardrobe or hair item(s), Select Content DB Editor on the Pane Options (Top right corner, arrow/page icon). If you install with DAZ Connect, go to the Wardrobe category and launch the Content DB Editor from the Pane Options, then click on the Assets tab.

    2. Drag select all of the wardrobe or Hair item(s) in the top window.

    3. Go to the bottom window select the Compatibility tab. You can see the currently set compatibility "Genesis 8 Female" by clicking on the Arrow to the left of the wardrobe or hair item(s).

    4. To change the compatibility to Genesis 8 Male, first, select all of the items, right click select Delete compatiblities from Selected File(s).

    5. With the items still selected, right click select Add compatiblities to Selected File(s), and select Genesis 8>Male and click Accept.

    6. Click Accept to closed the Content DB Editor.

Periodically, you should export your user changed metadata. Content DB Maintenance>Export User Data

EDIT: A product update was just posted for the dForce H&C Mandarin Collar Shirt for G8M to fix the compatiblity on the wearables to Genesis 8 Male

Thank you so much for the instructions, Lindsey.  I know it can take months for some tickets to be resolved.  Hopefully, DAZ will fix all these compatibility issues soon.
