Why Does Ron's Ashes Require Other Products?

I love Ron's brushes, backgrounds, etc. Curious though: Why does Ron's Ashes require Ron's Apocalypse, Ron's War Essentials, and Iray FireFight?

I can see how it can be used in Iray Firefight. Sakura is having a bad day:

    My guess it's because those three products are improved by the addition of the Ashes set. If you look at one of their product pages, the Ashes get labelled as an add-on, which makes a bit more sense. I doubt whether any of those three products are actually required to get these brushes to work.
