And, as usual, the PC coupon for USD 6 stops working fully when the free DAZ Originals are added to the cart too.frown

Add another cheap item so they are not free, then the full $6 will be applied.

hmm.. i tried that but it still didn;t take off full $6. Pro bundle and 2 addons are all DO items. Each other item was under $0.10. or does it have to be over $0.00 even after the coupon is applied.

I don't know the answer to that. However, I recreated my cart, where the PlatClub coupon applied fully. I had six items for the $50 off, (including three from Fast Grab!) and before applying the coupon, the lowest value in the cart was $0.25. After applying the coupon, that item was still the lowest price, at $0.04. The other items in the cart were the J8 Pro bundle, J8 HD Addon, and two texture addons for outfits in the pro bundle.

I hope this info is helpful.

The coupon value is distributed among the qualifying items. Something costing $0.01 will still eat a part of the coupon, since you can't subtract the full value from it.

not just a penny? but it only took off $4.30.

It will take off whatever portion of the coupon falls on that item. If it can't take the full amount off (because it doesn't cost that much to start with), then that gets lost. Repeat for every qualifying item.

strange it doesn't just take the whole thing off the pro bundle, or whatever. it must not start at the top, but maybe the bottom? or there is a cutoff for each product the amount that can be discounted. SO in the case of my cart, posted higher up, when every item is a DO, and every item has a charge, you would think it would just subtract $6 from the total. it does not make sense to me actually how it figures out which item or items will ge discounted.

I do not think I explained the problem properly.

Before I added the free items (up to USD 50), the coupon worked fine, and the total was lowered by USD 6. As soon as I added the free items (without removing anything), the coupon suddenly only lowered the total by USD 3.88.

It wants to get a part off of every qualifying item. With DO items it doesn't matter much. But with the other coupon this makes sense. It doesn't penalize one PA (top, or bottom in the cart), but spreads the discount out.

ok ..thats cool .. so it takes the cents from each of the 5 "free" items, then grabs the rest from the other DO products, for a total of $6 ... but it is not doing that ... its shorting by $1.70. Yeah, proabably not enough to worry about, but its the princiapl of the thing.

No. It doesn't only take the cents. Let's say, for example, it wants to take $1 off each item. Item 1: $0.01. Tries to take off $1, but can't, so you lost $0.99 there. $5 remaining in the coupon. Item 2: $2.12. Tries to take the $1 off and succeeds. Item 3: $0.50. Tries to take the $1 off, but can't, to you lose another $0.50 here. Etc.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it works something like this (an empirical guess based on my experiences with the coupons):

    1) It adds up the current store page prices of all qualifying items in your cart
    2) It divides the $6 by that total
    3) It applies the proportion of the $6 to each qualifying item according to the ratio of their store price to that total

You'll see the problem: it hasn't taken account of the fact that some of the items are free in the cart - so that proportion of the $6 gets lost.

  • CS will probably give you the difference as store credit, if you didn't get the full PC+ coupon value, if you want to submit a ticket.

aha ... so then it requires putting in product that takes thsoe free items to a couple bucks or whatever ... which the basically cancels out the coupon anyway. Might as well hold it for another day.

yes..i will save it. Didn't they use to just work no matter?  It seems to me I used to use them all the time with zero dollar and other items in cart

I believe it goes by the discount as well, but removing both of them still doesn't make the lesser cost items free.

@Sorel I recreated your cart excatly. The two HD Add-ons alone dropped to $0. The moment I added the hair or the outfit, the discount stopped working. So those two items (Jumbo Side Braids and Beast Master) seem to be the problems.

I did. Daz was unable to recreate the problem. If you're still having this trouble, please put in a ticket.

Also, a couple of hours before I saw the post, it had worked when I bought my own Jonathan cart. I had tested with a different browser, unlogged.

Is KindredArts being removed from the related vendors list? I add a couple of their items to my cart, and they show as being more than they're listed at on their artist page. Just a changeover casualty?

In my cart, it looks as if the Key item discount is being applied, but the buying two (or more) newly mad items one isn't. Today's newly mad items should be at 55% off, not 46%
