Iray Blizzard not showing up in Smart Content

Hello,

I have this product installed called Iray Blizzard SKU:57663, but it does not show up anywhere in Smart Content. It's not even in the Content Library.

Is there something wrong with the metadata on this product?? All the other products I own by this artist, Iray Apocalpyse, Iray Storm, Iray Distance Fog, Iray FireWorx, and Iray SurfaceWorx, work just fine, and are listed in the Smart Content pane. 

Is anyone having the same issue?

    P.S. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Iray Blizzard, but it does not fix the issue.

    What do you see in Studio under Products -> I -> Iray Blizzard?

    I can't say for certain, but I'm not sure that products you install with DIM does show up in Smart Content, I Think they need to be installed via Connect. I installed my Iray Blizzard via Connect and that shows up in Smart Content.

    According to the read me (which you can access by clicking the info icon just to the right of the Uninstall button) it should be in the Content Library pane under

    Daz Studio Formats>[content directory]>Props>KindredArts>Iray Blizzard

    I thought that was the whole purpose of DIM. To install things so that they show up in Smart Content? Should I be using Connect instead? Where do you access Connect?

    It's not there either. See attached.

    I have a lot of Kindred Arts products and they ALL show up in Smart Content once installed, except for Iray Blizzard which seems to be very good at hiding.

    Nothing there either. It's very mysterious. 

    When I first purchased this product a little over a year ago, I tested it from Smart Content.

    I needed to use it again just recently and have been unable to locate it even after repeatedly uninstalling and reinstalling it on DIM. 

    Do you think I should I contact Technical Support about this issue?

    P.S. I hit reply twice so I think that's what Richard's comment is showing up as Northof45's. Sorry for that.

    Also, there is nothing special with my setup. I accepted all the default path names when I installed both DIM and DAZ Studio. 

    I have never had an issue with any of the over 1,000 products I have purchased so far, just this one that I know of. Would be nice to figure out the issue.

    If you're installing with DIM, have you checked to make sure the files are installed on your computer at all? At least that way you would know if the issue was just smart content, or an issue with the download or install.

    Found them here, under Content Libary Pane: "My DAZ 3D Library", "Props"

    Does this mean I can access it only from the Content Library?

    OK. Solved. I uninstalled Iray Blizzard using DIM.

    I then opened DAZ Studio and used Connect to install directly from within Studio. (see screenshots)

    It now shows up in Smart Content.

    So I guess the question I have is what method should I be using to install the products? Should I be using Connect instead of DIM??

    The product was updated, it's possible there was an issue with the smart content information in the new files that are on DIM but not with connect? I don't use smart content so I'm not sure what is expected, but you may just want to open a ticket so they can take a look and update the DIM files if needed.

    Personally I prefer to use DIM and only use connect for items that just flat won't isntall through DIM for some reason.

    Thank you! I had no idea there were some products that don't install correctly in DIM. 

    At least I know now there is another option. I've been struggling with this Blizzard thing for a month now. Had I known it would be as simple as using Connect I would have tried long before.

    Sorry, couldn't follow up sooner. I never had a problem with this product installed with DIM. I have had invisible products that refused to show, but they did have an empty Products entry. I found stuff in the LOCAL USER product and/or Lost and Found category and fixed it by deleting the entries wherever they showed up. Sometimes you can find orphaned references if something is actually uninstalled. I figure the database was in an undefined state at the time, and thought it was installed, but didn't actually have the pointers to the files. Or vice versa; something like that.

    Thank you! Very good info to keep in mind. I had not had a problem with DIM before either, until this Iray Blizzard business.
