Changing splash screen DS 4.12

Anyone know how to change the splash screen on DS 4.12 when the program starts up? The green guy has to go lol.

Thanks!

Edit -> Preferences -> Interface -> General, Splash Image to Alternate. There's only the one other choice, but no green guys.

ETA: Assuming this, I'm still on 4.11, but I doubt that part would change.

No image for Alternate splash screen in 4.12 Production or 4.12 Beta. Just matte metallic screen that says DS Daz Studio.

  • I reckon this has been the most unpopular splash screen ever devil

not dissing the art but my that fella is one ugly MF!

  • Thank you! Yes right ugly bloke reminds of a math teacher I once had.

I prefer the alternate splash screen, but the best thing I did to get DS to launch quickly was disable all the plug-ins I don't use. (Help> About Installed Plug-ins). If you don't use things like Puppeteer or FBX Importer, disabling them prevents them from loading on launch (thereby decreasing the launch time).

I know it depends on all sorts of other factors too, but DS launches in approx. 6 seconds on my pc. That's with about half of the plug-ins disabled.

wow... thanks. i just turned some off and it loads in seconds. at least 10 times faster. I'm not sure what most of them are for, so left most, but all those exporter ad bridges i turned off. Also 3delight renderer. can always turn it back on if i ever need to use it.

Had a panic attack when I disabled some plug-ins and DS refused to start. After a computer re-start things returned to normal.... phew!

And once again, Maclean blows my mind with things he knows that make my life easier! LOL. I had no idea about this - plus I don't even know what most of those plug-ins do! Hopefully I disabled the right ones LOL Thank you!

I got so fed up with Gimp's annoying "beatnik/grunge" style Splash Screen that did a search on how to change Gimp's splash screen. Very easy. There is a file folder called splash screen in the "AppData" files for Gimp, and you can just place a new jpg image in it or alter the current inhouse splash screen.

I am pooped at the moment, so I just loaded up Gimp's current splash screen, in Gimp, and used colorize to give it a light green color to replace the original Halloween color style.

Now, can the programmers at Daz Studio do the same thing for Daz Studio and create an easy file folder that allows one to create their own Splash Screen image and place it within that folder?

As for that Green critter, does he/her/it stink too, hah ha ... looks like he/her/it needs a bath real soon ...
