Absolute newbie here.

I'm using the Poseidon Outfit for Genesis 8 Male.

In the first attachment, my characters pants are black and smooth.

How do I get it to look like the pants in the picture with all of the detail.

    Hey fellow newbie :) have you tried changing how you view it in the viewport? Moving it to Iray instead of texture shaded?

    Exactly. many of the Iray materials don't really show their full colors and detail till you render them. Also the lighting you use will also play a big part in how they look.
