Morning. Orange and yellow dawn chased away by a big bright blue sly day, looks like it will be hot again in a while :)

Well, we had another two inches on the ground this morning. But the sun is out in full right now. Sadly, it hasn't chased away the snow from my car or the driveway. I'm not going out there, though. I still have the congestion. When will it go away? :shut:

had to clean off my car today so I could go to the doctors. What are you taking for the congestion?

no beer. can't get to the beer place. the ones i like aren't in the supermarket. woes

...looks like the burbs here, save for the snow. Thought in the more civilised cities and towns back east they all had sidewalks and only us here in the "untamed west" didn't.

...raw windy day today says 53° feels more like the 30s. Another "high" aches and pains day according to the weather site. That part of forecast they got right. Hurting all over today, didn't get out of bed till late as I was aching so badly.

Nice to see at least my forum name can work for others sometimes. Wish it would do so for me, however our Megabucks goes from 1 - 48 so I'd be missing 22 numbers to pick from and is a "6 pick" lotto. Guess I could use Leela's birthday and part of mine (except the year) which would leave one number unaccounted for. Need something that works. End of month coming in less than 3 days.

I stayed in bed extra long cause of cold, hurting, and dreading the doctors.

Nothing. I've been coughing more the past couple of days...which is good, it means it's loosening up and clearing out. I just get impatient, I want it all out now! :smirk:

Nah. It's exactly one mile to the Galleria (mall) and there is no sidewalk on either side of the road. But about half way between, sometimes you can spot some truly free range chicken...Rhode Island Reds and others, sharing the side of the road with walkers, bicyclists. Travel a mile in the other direction, maybe a little more, and sometimes you'll see wild turkeys crossing the road. I saw them more than once. The first time it was a couple days before thanksgiving. I yelled, "If you knew what day is close, you wouldn't be walking so casually!" Then, at the first major intersection, take a right and there's a big farm. And there I've seen deer hanging at the edge of the road. I almost hit one a couple of years ago. It stood there, it wasn't moving, as I crawled by. Then as I was just passing it, it decided to start to take a run. I gunned it and watched him pass behind me. I think he did it on purpose, just to scare me!

20F here right now, but feels like 12F. We had a balmy high of 26 today! Yay. Didn't go out anyway, so it doesn't matter. Except it matters for Diane, who hasn't headed home yet. It's not getting any warmer! Oi, it's not even February yet!

Complaint...sort of: The creator of Alice has once again changed vendor name...now to be know as Aeonsoul. This is the third or fourth name change since I became involved in 3D in 2007. Why? If you want to stay fresh, change you style...not your name. Just my opinion. I always thought that the goal was to make a name for yourself. That becomes useless if you change it. I don't know. Like I said, just my opinion.

Hot tea and honey works pretty good. If you have a little brandy or bourbon you can add a bit to it. Not sure what you guys would call them but here we can them hot totties. I Use it all the time when I get congested. Congestion only last a day or two at most for me. The last flu I got though kicked my butt. I got it about a week after I got the flu shot. It lasted for 2 weeks and turned into bronchitis and needed an antibiotic to clear it up.

I usually just ride things out. I don't know what this is. It might be the flu. I don't always get that, in fact normally I don't. But you can't beat statistics all the time. Like I said, I only get sick once ever 4 or 5 years. It's been almost a week of this now. I feel much better, except for the congestion and cough...which I think is also getting better. I have been drinking hot tea a lot. Well, a lot for me. This started after I shoveled for an hour in 14F weather, with a near constant wind of maybe 10 to 20, last Wednesday. That was probably a bad idea. Thursday I was feeling like this. I have a bit more energy now, but I'm still not back at 100%, not by far.

I was making good progress on the basement project, too...this has stopped it dead. >:-(

    Dana

ETA: Flu shots...meh, I don't get them. I never have and I think I get the flu least of anyone around here.

...I know. Been seeing constant "high" flu status warnings on the weather site for a while now. So far feel fortunate. Maybe might duck it this time around as I am not riding on overcrowded buses every day.

I like to refer to a crowded bus as a "rolling Petri dish" you pay to ride.

I sit in the back of cabs so I can work while I'm travelling but advice is to sit in front cos it is likely to be cleaner and more germ free. Don't seem to get many bugs tho *knocks wood* :)

Just finished raining here. Sprinkled a tiny little bit yesterday and this morning, then around 9 or so it just stared down in a steady rainfall. Not too big, but it was rain :)

I don't think I could do that. I don't trust other drivers. I'd be looking around and couldn't concentrate on work.

Cool. If I had a tablet, I'd try something like that. The background would actually be in the background, on a lower layer in Photoshop. I guess that would still happen until the bird was colored in, though. I found out that my dad did animation for Disney way back. I don't know exactly which features. Maybe I should look through them, stare at the credits. But I'm not a big Disney fan. I only have a couple of their movies. And that would take such a long time. And the credits might be too small to see them anyway. I am curious, though. I wonder every now and then.

I don't drive at all so I never pay attention to what is going on unless the cab gets gridlocked and stops for a while. Spoiled here, the taxi service is really good most of the time compared to what I hear about cabs elsewhere :)

...sounds like it's a lot more affordable then where I live. To get to my old workplace from home and back would cost at least 40 - 40$ sans tip. each way, I'd have to be earning a 6 digit figure to pay for that everyday.

Me, I'm reinstalling my content from scratch. Yeah, not fun, but my old install from pre-DIM was messing up things... and I figured what the heck, why not.
