Deleting broken Smart links

Is there a utility to clean out all the broken smart links from DS 4.12 without going through the tedium of removing them one by one?

  • What do you mean by Smart Links?

I'd like to know this as well. I moved some of my content directories so that they would make more sense (some artists put stuff all over the place), which broke the Smart Content info for them. I don't use Smart Content for the most part, other than poses...but now I have some broken pose links on Smart Content from items I've shuffled around manually. I'd love to get rid of those.

  • The database uses relative paths so as long as the files are still in the same place within the content directory it should be working.

That's the thing...I've re-organized some of my content directory to make more sense. Some PA's have different products in different directories, driving no consistency in their file structure...so I've fixed that on my end in order to actually find and use things. However, that results in broken Smart Content. I'd like to just be able to remove those broken boxes in my Smart Content pane.

  • Same issue - I had a G3 to G8 pose converter "escape" from the folder I told it to work in, and it converted everything to "g8" including stuff that was already g8, so I deleted the folder full of all the generated garbage, and have pages and pages of broken icons I can't get rid of.

The best way to clean things up is to export your user data, and then reset the database, and then reimport everything again. It takes 5-10 mins or so to run through, but at the end the smart content will be clean again.

This might as well have been in Greek for all I could understand it, lol.
