Complaint: I'm so freaking old that I've hit the point where I'm having trouble finding new music to listen to that I enjoy. Everyone says this, but I didn't think it would happen to me. I thought I'd stay open minded about music, and become a punk-rock grandma down the line. However.... When I was in my teens and early twenties, most of the really popular musicians were somewhere from their early thirties to early fifties. Now I'm in my very late 30s, and most of the popular performers are in their teens and early 20s. When did adults get cancelled?

Welcome to the club.  I'm so old that very little gets my little gray cells excited anymore.  Neither music, art, travel, fiction, nor people, ...

I'm an avid collector.  I have many many collections of various things that I can afford.  I've run out of room to collect all but the smallest of things.  More examples of things I already have, leave me cold.  At one time I thought the catalog of classical music was full of interesting things but I've pretty much exhausted styles that interest me and simply don't get spun up about most other styles.  Life starts out as confusing and seemingly inexhaustible newness, then decades of hard work to find what you like & get good at it, then in the last act, mundane sameness and disappointment tend to crop up in so many places.  Then you die.surprise  I don't understand why people want to live to be 100. frown  My saving grace is that I'm absolutely fascinated by state-of-the-art science.  And I get all giddy when an opportunity to attend a live symphony of a favorite piece that I haven't heard live yet shows up in a mailed brochure or radio advertisement.  But be happy!  It makes everybody else jealous. devil

Hehe, I recently started collecting Mini Boos. They're probably not going to become incredibly valuable collectibles, but they're darn cute. (Remember the Beanie Baby craze? Same company.) Today I noticed the store I've been getting them at only had a handful left, so I bought all of them. I don't have a completed series, but I did get the ultra-rare mystery character. laugh

    They're so glittery!

Yet more thoughts on music. When I was 13ish, in 1993-4, my cousin (29) had this girlfriend who was really shocked that I'd heard songs by Chicago and REO Speedwagon on the radio, and that I'd liked them. Because those songs were soooo ooooold, like from the early 80s. If a kid told me they liked songs from around 2010, I wouldn't bat an eyelid. Why wouldn't they know the early hits of Rihanna, Adele or Daughtry?

Does this contradict what I said earlier? I'm kind of ready for shut-eye, and can't make sense of myself.

I have to reinstall DS in order to play with it.  I almost forgot about the CMS.  Probably says it is installed but I doubt it is since the info about what is installed and not is wrong.

You missed this one on Halloween? All NASA photos are public domain. Not sure about others.

Complaint:  Arghhhh...  When I got up this morning the floor in my kitchen felt unusually cold to my unsocked feet.  I looked out at the thermometer on my porch and there were no Fahrenheits out there.  Zero!  surprise  The night had stolen the 30 Fahrenheits I had out there when I went to bed. frown  And the downstairs floors were cold because the weather had been so mild recently that I'd gotten out of the habit of putting the draft blocking rug to cover the crack at the bottom of the door.  Nice layer of frigid air oozing along my floors. sad

Things are a little better now.  The floor draft is gone, and the arrival of the sun has brought back 10 Fahrenheits.  yay! yes

You are lucky that you get your warm in fahrenheits.  If it was centigrades  you would still be missing 12 centigrades.

WHERE ARE THE DFORCE ANGELFISH?  OOPS CAPLOCKS

i made my photography a createspace book.  i forgot about it.  made it in 2009

tried to buy new eyeglasses this mornin.  he said i have cataracts.  he refused to give me a new prescription cuz my correctivs are over 2,000 now and said glasses wont help me.  so i ordered same as my old scrp, but getting the good anti glare on em.  vsp doesnt cover the anti glare.  i paid extra for the special lighter lenses, also not covered.  the annual fees for the vsp cost more than the frames they covered, i actually losing out on the vision insurance deal. thats my complaints today.  that and the 18 F today.

and my dreaam of renewing my driver license went poof.  not that i'd drive again, but its a symbol of independence. poof

went into stop n shop, not a single valentine hearts o chocolate left on the shelfs.  do they put the same ones out next year? stale truffles?
