Guide to different formats of Daz, past and present
in The Commons
This is something I'd really find useful, and I suspect I'm not the only one.
I just had a dig around on my drives, new and old, and I have a whole bunch of Daz files in different formats. Literally hundreds of GB of them. I have .duf, .dsa, .sea. json, as well as the expected .exe and .zip files.
Can some knowledgeable person please write up an explanation, saying how (and where) to install these things? I haven't a clue what to do with most of them.

.sea is the format for the key files used by Connect to decrypt content when it installs it.
.duf is the format used for DS content since DS4.5.
.daz was the format used for DS scenes before DS 4.5, while .dsa, .dsb and .dse were used for scripts and presets (dsa is the basic format, dsb the binary equivalent and dse the encrypted version)
.dsf is used for technical files in the "data" folder, like the geometry or morph files.
I think this explains more about what the diferent file types are...
