Sand flowing and piling effect?

So am doing a tomb raider type comic where the hero is stuck in a booby trapped room and sand starts flowing from four tube outlets in each corner of the room. How can I make it so it looks like sand is flowing down from each tube end please and how can a sand pile effect be done? Sort of an hourglass effect essentially if you get what I mean. Anyone know how I could do this type of effect please.

...sounds like you are talking particle physics which Daz sort of has through Fluidos (which is currently on the the 50% weekend sale). Most likely you would need Fluidos II which can create other materials besides water but is also expensive even at half price.

Otherwise I would suggest Blender as that is free.

For the piling sand, you can always just use a cone primative with a sand material applied.

To make the cone deform around the character you can add a smoothing modifier (edit > object > geometry > add smoothing modifier), select the cone and under "mesh smoothing" in properties select the figure as the collision item.

This product includes a big hourglass: https://www.daz3d.com/sands-of-time-prop-and-poses

    Maybe it could be repurposed?
