Daz unable to find files

Several items that used to work before I had to wipe my computer no longer work

Specificly Wild Wind Hair which I recently purchased. When I click on it a dialod asks if I want to save the scene before closing it as if I were opening a scene instead of hair. Whether I click yes or no, I get a dialog that says "could not open file :/people /genesis 8 female /hair /Goldtassel /Wild Wind Hair /Wild Wind Hair.duf

The file exists and  is where it should be. If I open it directly I can get my hair which will have to be fitted to a figure added after since the hair is in a new scene. If I try to change the hair color I get the same effect for the materials.

Anyone ever hear of this?

Anyone know a good voodoo curse I can put on Dell and Best Products?

Sounds like a conflict between DIM and Connect. Uninstall from your content library, uninstall and reinstall through DIM.

  • Update. I just discovered that everything that is messing upis located in the Daz Connect file, as well as the My Daz 3DD Library

Run that by me again. you mean delete the files or use some other method than the DIM uninstaller?

  • If tghe system thinks there is a Connect install (made from within DS) and there isn't then uninstall the Connect version (right-click on the product icon). However, I suspect you have the reverse issue - the files are there, but because you are using a fresh database (rather than a back up of the old one) the CMS doesn't know about them - and possibly yu have not gone on line with DS so it doesn't know you own the product (otherwise it would offer to download and isntall), in which case a reisntall (Connect or DIM) should be all tat is needed.

When my computer crashed I had to reinstall everything. For some reason these files are in 2 places and daz can't find either.
