2020-HERE-I-COME Coupon code?

I suddenly received this message and dismissed it and now it's gone.

I wasn't sure if it is real (Yes I am suspicious)

But after trying, it works!

Now I am wondering how long can coupon code stand since it's not mentioned in the message?

    My partner got the code earlier today and I didn't.

    From its accompanying text I get the impression that perhaps my gift card purchases this year have made me ineligible to receive the code.

     

    "We haven't seen you this year, have a 50% discount".

    "We saw your purchases, thank you for your patronage. (Not eligible for discount)".

     

    I'll wait and see, perhaps they are merely batch processing the distribution of the code to all members.

    If it's exclusive to members with no previous spending in 2020 then this doesn't seem to be a really thoroughly considered idea.

    If nothing else, it wil placate the person who was complaining that it was so unfair that those who spent a lot got an extra discount, while those that spent next to nothing got none!

    Chances are not all my wishlist items will have discount at the same period,

    I shoud use it carefully from now on.

    Since I am still new to rendering, I can wait for a while until my skill improves...

    If it works on gift cards, I would use it on that, maybe combined also with the gift card coupon.

    It sounds like a marketing policy, to entice people to start spending on your stuff again, to offer a big discount to someone that hasn't spent something yet.

    It's like offering a free shot or something to an alcoholic, hoping to get him hooked back in.

    You don't give a free shot to someone that is already buying alcohol from you, they are already hooked.

    It doesn't work on gift cards. You can only use one coupon code at a time, you can't combine two.

    You're right, didn't think about combining with another coupon, too bad it doesn't work on gift cards although 50% off is a big discount indeed.

    I'm not sure what the qualifier for the code is, but I got it and I've already spent over $200 this year. It's all from my store credit though and I bought that last year, so maybe that doesn't count as actually buying?

    I do wonder for how long it lasts, as there's no date mentioned in neither the e-mail nor the banner message.

    That's correct. When you spend actual money, that counts as buying. When you spend store credit, it doesn't count as buying. I'm happy for this coupon now (same scenario as you: I have been using store credit from last year), but I still find this method a bit odd.

    That got to hurt @Aeonmoon , you have my sympathies.

    Seems those of us that have only used store credit got lucky with this offer. And to think I was about to buy a $10 giftcard yesterday for a gift, but I got distracted and never got around to it. I would not have been pleased had I done that and as a result miss out on this coupon.

    There's no expiry date listed in the offer, but it's for "your next purchase". So after that, I believe it's gone whether you use the code or not.

    I just got that coupon but yesterday alone I had several orders (to take advantage of all the coupons for this weekend) and bought a huge gift card with cash.  Very odd, but I'll definitely use it, though I just bought almost everything I would have used that coupon on.  (Sigh.  What I need to catch up on is all my downloads thanks to all the sales.)

    Ah, of course! That explains why I got the code too - I was mystified when I saw it because I've made at least 6 purchases this year (one of them quite large with several new releases). All from store credit. So I got lucky this time.

    Yes, and the example I cited did seem to be absed on a longer period - but I know I have missed out on "earned by spending" bonuses through using store credit (though of course the store credit is from buying GCs at a discount, so it's debatable how much if at all I lost out overall).

    Are you saying if I purchase whatever I have already in my cart without using the 2020 discount for next purchase I will lose that discount?  I wouldn't think that is correct as you only can't use a banner code if you've already used it, if you don't put that code on your order how can you possibly lose it?

    As someone mentioned, no expiry date. I am concerned though cause my next cheque is not till Feb 31, will this coupon still be available to me for then?

    Well you should indeed be concerned then, because last I checked February only has 29 days at most ;)

    I don't have that offer but judging from past experiences I doubt it will last the whole week (assuming you meant January 31st), more probably only for the weekend.

    I bought a giftcard yesterday and I have bought some stuff earlier and I got the banner.

     

    Edit: and seconds after I made this post it disappered, were I not suposed to get this banner?frown If the code is not working I'm going to be very upset, they can't take back an offer. But it's probably a bug. I'll try and use it later.

    I puchased a gift card with th 25$ off and then used my 2020 coupon to purchase CJ8 pro bundle plus 3 CJ new releases and the fantasy bundle ..CJ8 pro  was only 23.00.  I wasn't too concerned about getting the free DO's ith CJ as they are on sale quite frequently.
