IRay Wetworks

I cannot get this decal to work. I select what I want the decal on and I get an empty bounding box. I have tried viewing in mesh and other forms, changed the materials rendered nothing shows up. Am I doing it wrong or is it broken?

    Decals only show up in Iray renders. No other preview mode will work.

    I thgought I would show you too;

    I created a sphere with way too low resolution.

    I applied a matte pottery glaze and the Iray Wetworks wearable with the ketchup handprint.

    I rendered.

    Here is a very quick render with Sebastian and a Swole morph wearing the gym set with the sweat texture on the Iray wetwork decal.

    So, how do I know where my decal is? that seems dumb. Not likely to buy any more decals

    Well you can move the bounding box to the right area, and then use IRay preview mode to knock it into place.  Then, once it is there, it's already parented so it's not likely to move much if you re-pose.  Obviously, you'd need to tweak it a bit here and there, but generally speaking once you get it in the right place you're good to go.

    Decals are nice... a very quick and dirty way to add details and realism to scenes.  They can be cumbersome, but don't give up on one bad experience.  At the very least, you can use them for stationary or background objects.  Those would be one and done!

    It should be "decals only show up in the iray preview and finished iray renders"; you can switch from textured or shaded line preview in your viewport.  Truthfully, I don't really bother... I just do a spot render with the render tool or a quick render of 30 sec to a minute just to know where the decal is.  Definitely, try it out... they become pretty easy once you get used to them.  The images that I added above probably took 5 minutres of set up...
