To add a bit more realism to my G8F close up portraits I am looking for those tiny body hairs every human has. I can't find something like this on the Daz store. Can you recommend anything?

Big thanks in advance :)

Basically a product like this, but one that doesn't only fit babina:

this product has hair for the face, limbs and torso https://www.daz3d.com/rhogue-hd-for-genesis-8-female

Also, if the vellus hair works for Babina it will also work for any other G8 figure

There is one that has been sitting in my wishlist for a long time (not a high priority for me), but it is for G3F. I'm not certain it would work for G8F, but I suspect it might. Asking someone who actually has it would be the best course, rather than using the DAZ3D 30-day return policy. It is only for the face, however.

(In a related note, why in the world would anyone need DForce for vellus hair? I have my share of real body hair of various sorts in various places and the only hair that responds to gravity or anything short of hurricane-force wind, is the hair on my head.)

  • If you're just doing facial portraits, a lot of mousso's newer characters have facial vellus hair.

At least for me, it wouldn't be so much for the dForce, but more because it's strand-based hair. The fibermesh hair can sometimes be too thick. And it may be tricky to paint yourself, so a purchasable option is good to have.

Yeah, fibermesh body hair for females usually looks too thick to me too. You can sorta fix it by turning down opacity, but it still doesn't look quite right to me.

You can also add your own opacity map to make the hairs thinner.
  • Benita includes vellus hair. See my reference image for here here

It should also work on other characters

I got that a little while ago the last time they had a big wishlist sale. It's fibermesh hair, in several sections. Nice and easy to use, doesn't add too much to the scene overhead or render time, and there's a morph to make the hair thinned-out or more bushy. I could have wished for more hair colour options, but overall I like it.

Does anyone know of a similar body hair set for G8M?

  • That one I found does a good job for body hair on the arms, legs, back, chest, and abs. I'm hoping eventually that a body hair product is released that has slight different pattern options & similar texture features as OOT's hair products.

I can second this. Great character anyway, PLUS you get the vellus hair.

As for the look of the fibremesh hairs, I had the same issue. It just didn't look the way I wanted it to, so I lowered the opacity a little bit, upped the translucency and translucency colour, and then just played with the diffuse colour until it matched what I was after.

I think the translucency is what was throwing it off for me, as once I turned that up a bit, it was just a matter of getting the right colour. These hairs are barely visible in real life (on the face, anyway), and they're so tiny that they are quite tanslucent, so I figured that would be the way to go. Worked for me anyway.

The Rendo freebie section had something regarding velus hair for G8F earlier this week. I didn't investigate, but you might as well check there to see whether that is in the right ballpark.

It's pretty good facial vellus hair, but nothing for the rest of the body.

  • A number of Mousso's figures include 'Peach Fuzz', Romina and Rhogue at the very least. This is for the face arms and torso. If for the legs too, I cannot remember.

Does indeed work on G8F. Just load it up without auto-fit, change the scene identification, then fit to and done.
