Can't Connect To Daz When Working On Company Network

So after waiting for almost 2 years while working on my home rig, the company I'm working for finally forked out the funds for a rendering rig for Daz.  Mind you it has a 3 year old P4000 compared to my 2950 Threadripper  2x 2080 TI gaming/rendering personal rig.  Only problem is, it can't connect to Daz.  Tried logging in using both my personal and corporate accounts and it won't connect.

So is there a network setting within Daz preventing it from connecting (well, thats what the IT folks think)?

Personally, I think it's all the security related software and all the firealls.  Takes almost 5 minutes for a company rig to boot up because its so bloated with security programs.

I can't connect from DS or DIM from my company network either. I always thought it was because they don't take the proxy into account when connecting (there's no way to set proxy parameters in DIM or DS, and they don't seem to use the system parameters).

Maybe some sort of firewall setting? The last place I worked at used a whitelist-only private network service with some pretty fierce security. It kept giving us false positive blocks — several times we couldn't get into the FexEx website to set up deliveries. Very annoying whenever I had to phone downstairs to the office to call the service to pull the cork out.

Most good business networks have an allowed list of "good work relevant sites" and so that's going to exclude most internet sites right off the bat. You need to make a requisition with you work manager to add all the relevant DAZ sites to their allowed "good work related sites". They don't need or want the security headaches & loss of productivity from workers surfing the internet.

I agree with Spotted Kittyl. Back in the day I was the administrator of a firewall and proxy software that gave me very granular control over what sites the users could and could not access from their company PCs.  Of course there could be other possibilities, but I would suggest the OP contacts their IT department.

  • Don't think it's the firewall as IT had to download the installer from Daz.  After that, the installer also had to connect to Daz to download all the files.  This was all done using the company network.  IT thinks it's a proxy issue with the main program and I informed them that there are no proxy settings for Daz.  I believe Leana indicated it was the lack of a proxy setting in her case.
