Camera see through objects
Hello guys,
I'm not even sure if what I want is possible, but if it is it will help me a lot.
Is there a way for my camera to see thorugh a certain object while rendering. I cannot remove the object or change to opacity because I need that object to be there because there is a mirror on the other side of the wall, so removing the object is not a solution and the room is too small to place my camera in there alongside the character. It's like a box with a mirror on a side.
Thank you!

why not use an iray plane? It can be used to do impressive cross section renders. Here's a tutorial by SnowSultan about them
To create one go to Create > New Iray Secition Plane Node
Thank you very much. I didn't know about those plane nodes... I'll take a look to the tutorial right now
The only problem with this solution is the fact that in my room I have a mirror and on the mirror you see the sky.
Plan B -
Render the room from the mirror perspective using a section plane on the mirror side.
Use the render as a texture on the mirror surface
Render the room again from opposite the mirror
Yes ?
You can use the Iray section plane for that. There is a setting in the parameter plane under section plane that determines if light path are cut off or not. That way a section plane can allow you to see through the wall but the wall will still be visible in the mirror.

edit: here is an example. The camera is outside the room behind the door that's visible in the mirror.

Sweet... Thank you very much. It's exactly what I needed. It works perfectly.
This was the solution I was prepared to use, however the solution thd777 had a good solution for my problem and works perfectly.
Thank you very much.
