strange problem putting grass skirt in a scene

So I am trying to add a Hawaii grass skirt into a scene (in pic) but it simply will not show up for some reason despite it showing as in the scene and regardless if I have it on a charracter or not. Everything else I can load up fine but just not the skirt. I've tried a render just to see if it comes up in it but still no sign of it. Any sugggestions why this is happening? oh its dforce too if thats worth mentioning.

  • Dforce hair won't work in 4.10, you have to use 4.11 or higher for it to work.

    what do you mean hair? its a skirt?!

  • If the grass that makes up the grass skirt is made of dforce hair fibers, then it won't work in 4.10. Though I don't know what product that is, so I can't say for sure. Can you provide a link to it?

    Yup, that's your problem. The grass fibers of the skirt are dforce hair. Therefore will not work in 4.10.

    It even says in the description: {...a grass skirt using dForce Hair for the strands}

  • It uses dForce Hair to achieve the grass.  From the product page "The Hula Outfit has a choice of Bandeau or Coconut tops and features a grass skirt using dForce Hair for the strands, giving a highly dynamic and versatile skirt which looks great in any pose or animation while still being fast to simulate."
