reflexes

I purchased this product, https://www.daz3d.com/victorian-decor-1-iray but the reflection in the mirror is blurred and there is a white light that is reflected above. Anyone know why this happens? are there any rules or settings for this type of product?

  • What is your lighting?

  • All default. I have not added or removed anything

  • The default RuinsHDR is pretty blurry in itself, and that is what the reflections will show if there isn't actual scene geometry in the way.

  • To tell the truth, I had positioned the mirror inside an apartment. I posed genesis in front of the mirror to get a reflection of it. Unfortunately she is also very blurry, it seems that the glass is tarnished. Maybe there are rules for this type of object.

Maybe the PA made the mirror to mimic old mirrors from those days. I think they might of only been polished metal or something.

    1. Select the mirror prop
    2. In the Surfaces pane (Window>Panes(Tabs)>Surfaces if it isn't open) go to the Editor tab
    3. In the surface list on the left expand the mirror and select VicMirror
    4. Now adjust the Glossy Roughness slider to get the look you want.

Only the contents of the mirror? Not likely, but a camera with Depth-Of-Field (DOF) enabled could result in this sort of result, but the mirror frame would probably start blurring too. Just a thought.
