Benefit for Daz Community:
Graphics professional and artists will become familiar to Daz Store who still not discovered it yet.
Daz community will gain talented people who still doing 2d only.
Benefit for us:
We will get beautiful contents at affordable price.
We will get a license along with the purchase i.e. even better than CC0.
3D only people will create more dramatic art with power of 2D assets along with 3d assets.
Which assets are those:
2d overlays pack, LUT packs and 2d graphics software etc.

people do this already ...
you have seen Deviney's products?
..and Riversoft's Billboards
Yes, as I am gaining experience day by day my product list is growing. Those products looks extremely realistic. However Das Store still lacks quantity of different types of 2D assets to create art and graphics.
Can you give examples on which types of assets you would like to see in the store?
In my view I would prefer an 3D asset, then I myself can render the 2D perspective I like.
Example 1
Isn't these overlays exactly what is in deveiny's catalogue?
Proba
Pprobably because the company name is Daz 3d, and 3d is what most of the PAs make.
If we're looking at art resources Daz doesn't currently sell, they also lack sales of art paper, charcoal, watercolours, or modelling clay.
Eventually, almost any company (if you're not talking about huge multinational conglomerates, anyway) has to pick some boundary on what they want to market, and Daz has chosen to specialise in digital 3D resources, primarily those for its own software.

This set is great but I only have it because I could grab it for free. Why spend money if you can just do an image search?
Anyway, you can find quite a few 2D resources in the store. But that's not really what we all primarily come to this particular store for, is it?
Pardon me for the long paragraph, but this hits near to home, for me.
There are several different factors at play, for both the positive and the negative.
1) I was told cautioned (officially by "Daz" ) that 2D assets, in the store, do not sell as well as 3D assets. As a vendor who sells 2D assets, 3D assets and tutorials for 3D and 2D interests, I'm still too new to gauge sales over a long period of time- er, to be able to determine what numbers are 'proper'. According to all vendor feedback so far, the sales have been really good, across the board. No complaints here.
2) 3D starts as a passion and many early users (and some veterans) want to do EVERYTHING in Daz Studio, as a 3D object. It can be as simple as not wanting to leave the interface or just wanting the purity of every aspect being "really there" in some capacity. I find it goes by my own sensibility. For example, sometimes I want lightning as a 3D object, sometimes as a 2D brush and sometimes I want to use software so I can draw/create the special effect from scratch.
3) 2D postwork requires a separate range of skills. There's fixing things...and additive techniques....color....tone etc... There's also the larger challenge of getting the two to match. Adding stuff that emits light AFTER the render is done can be tricky. I covered that in one of my postwrok tutorials and it opened a lot of eyes. Even Ron Deviney's products have a lot of untapped potential- depending on how well you understand photography and using brushes (and his backdrops and 2D graphics) and even whatever software you use the brushes in.
4) For some of the 'best' 2D effects or postwork assets, additional software (which can be expensive) is needed. Most of the 2D assets available were, indeed, generated in a larger piece or suite of software. That's a whole nother direction of interest. It's good to lurk the forum or ask "What's a good piece for...?" since the userbase here has lots of experience. There's always little apps popping up- mostly stuff below your common Google search results. And so, the best 2D- asset generating software(s) are already owned by the 2D giants. I don't think it makes sense for Daz to create their own suite or asset library. Speaking of which.....
5) There are already a million sites that sell or have free 2D assets. From royalty-free images and brushes to...whatever. So if you are really into postwork or 2D assets, you probably already know about the major sites. And those show up in Google searches. And 2D assets are very inexpensive. Probably due to the easy-share-nature and abundance.
6) The theme would be to take 2D assets and turn them 3D for the (huge) Daz customerbase and userbase that (probably) leans more toward 3D assets over 2D assets. Which brings us back to the huge amount of billboards and effect plates and flattened 3D assets already in the store.
I love these potrait artists backgrounds: https://www.daz3d.com/portrait-artists-backgrounds
The 2D "poster" characters have been invaluable to adding life to my scenes. I love them and can't wait for more.
I use 2D assets in almost every render. HDRI's mostly, which might not count as 2D is people's opinions. I do not see any need for more to be offered in the store.
I personally don't use 2D assets much and dislike wading thru them at rendo since there are quite a few there.
Example 2
Difference between day and night using LUTs.
It is not 2d vs 3d instead it is how to create more attractive art and graphics using both 2D and 3D assets and skills.
Daz Studio can generate images like a real camera then if post work materials also available at Daz Store it will become more convenient to collect those assets. Since we all cannot deny the fact of necessity and importance of post work and post work materials.
Damn, thanks, just wishlisted.
... Saw how much in my cart, and clicked purchase instead. :D
I don't use many, but on occasions, they are useful.
I buy tons of 2D assets at Rendo and most of the limited 2D assets sold here. I don't consider billboards 2D because they are primarily for use in 3D although I guess you could use the pngs in 2D which might be a better use of them anyway because I think they look awful in 3D. But it's so easy to render your own people so I never understood the purpose of billboards. In any case, if Daz sold more 2D assets, I would definitely purchase them,
@nicstt No problem! :) At least on my monitor the colors of those backgrounds are very rich, and there's a huge variety.
@Wonderland I have also been thinking of buying a more 2D assets at Rendo, because they've got loads. I have heard some people speak disparagingly of using a 2D image for a background in 3D art, but for me it's a casual hobby where I play with my products like toys. I'm mostly interested in how digital people look, so I dress them up and put them in front of the camera. I like how portraits look against a 2D background. But that's just me. Everyone's tastes are different. :)
For the record, I don't feel post is a necessity or that important, just another style I can appreciaste, but that I am not into. I get more satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment trying to set up the materials and surfaces to react to the lighting as they should instead of trying to fake it with post..
