    Actually you can know who is replying to who. Just type '@' and you get a pop-up telling you who is online/active. so typing '@Fred' will place a highlight on the Discord Button on the taskbar for 'Fred'. ( installing the Discord app will be better than using it in a browser tab) Plus you can actually quote someone else, simply 'copy' the text to the input window, and place a quote mark either end of the text. You can also add 'smileys/emojii's' etc to someones post, and go back and easily edit your own posts.

    Same here, but I also include Discord to the list as it has safety, privacy and security issues like any other social media app.

    tell me about it, links shared in Skype often bypassed my Antivirus, I suspect Discord ones would too

     

     

    When you click on a link in Discord, you get a pop-up asking you if you wish to continue to the links address. ( btw you can upload files up to 8Mb in size, either to the room or to someone in a Private Message)

    You said "Hey there," to which I'm now saying "hi!" is not the usable quoting mechanism that exists on forums. :D Of course, you don't need quotes in a fast-paced chat. But you have to keep in mind that it's just for casual chat, not for discussing deep ideas.

    I suppose it would help if you gave the name of the Discord server so we could search for it onDiscordServers dot  com.when the invite expires.

    OK, despite my earlier misgivings, I now have a Discord account and the desktop app. It will be interesting to see how this channel goes. At least it doesn't have the NSFW restrictions of this forum.

    I forgot my Discord password.  Wonder if it is easy to reset it to something my phone can remember.
