Not entirely off topic but did anyone make any New Year's Resolutions for their Art and 3d in general?

1) Get better at Lighting

I'd still like to get better at lighting. I was working on a scene last night and it's split with several different sets so lighting is always a challenge. It never turns out the way I want.

2) Use more of the content that I purchased

I guess another one is to actually use the content that I purchased recently lol. I do have a lot of fun when I put the scene together. It is fun up until the light part. Then I get discouraged and it goes down hill from there.

3) Learn Photoshop so I can make adjustments to skins, pics, etc.

Maybe I can plow through these issues this year. How about you?

To be even more picky with my purchases, not because of finances, but the more I learn about what works best and what doesn't design wise, it keeps me from making the wrong purchases for things I know won't fit my work flow.

As for lighting, that is why I only used unbiased rendering, less parameters to deal with. I do plan to try new renderers though and try new techniques.

I don't care for postwork at all, but need to play more with postwork techniques also since some of my commission work had requested postwork style images as of late.

I plan to dig deep into Reality for Poser again since the new one for DS will share the same UI and so far, the UI for reality for poser and I have not gotten along, Probably because after years of poser use and now DS only I find poser clunky and unintuitive to work with and the new reality UI is different from the old DS one.

Hopefully this year I will have saved up enough to upgrade my 3DSMax version to the latest version, WOOHOO!

Reminds me I need to add tutorials to the list that I have already purchased and Poser. I cant save in Poser and it crashes even if I try a basic render.

Well ... now in 2014 ... I hope to finish some projects and not stay in this vicious circle of leaving unfinished projects, and run to try another, and then leaves it by halves and running again for another ... And ... And ...
I'll try just a project and endeavor to complete it without jumping into a new project.
    Therefore I will do a better 2014 than I was in 2013.
