so I've been keeping an eye on the threads seeing if anyone else mentions it but not seen anything and it has been for a few sales now but no one has seemed to taken any notice or are ok with it but have you noticed the increase in prices or in others words the decrease in discounts. Not sure if the discount was just for PC+ members been one for years but when ever there were new releases the Daz Original items on release for few weeks always around 51% or more off ok that hasn't changed but the non Daz Originalsall the other stuff newly released would be 40% for a couple of weeks or so when newly released then after that period would be 30% off or full price, but now all new releases except DO are 30% instead of the old 40% new release. Again I don't know if it was just PC+ members that got 40% then but we don't now

30% has been the standard discount for new releases ever since I have been shopping here (about 5 years ago), so no change there. DO discount has also not changed either (either new or PC+ discount), it was only temporarily raised to 40% during the PC+ sale.

@ANGELREAPER1972, As Havos mentioned, member discounts are 30% and have been for many years, if not the entire time of Platinum Club. For five weeks, starting the first full week of October, we had the PC Anniversary Sale, where member discounts were bumped up to 40%. The 40% stacking with the 30% on DO new releases meant 58% off DOs for members during the sale.

In fact, I've seen Daz increase the member discount for a few days here and there throughout the year, when they are having a Platinum Club promotion, as they did this past weekend.

Just as the member discount is normally 30%, so is the new releases intro discount. That discount is good for the first two weeks, and then the products do not qualify for discounts until 60 days after their release date, with one or two notable exceptions, (like the Best of the Best sale last week.)

During some event sales, like March Madness and the PA Festival, the intro price may be increased to 40% for both DO and non-DO (PA) products, but the increased discount only applies while the product is featured on the event sales page, which is usually for three days. During an event, once a product is no longer featured, it drops back to the 30% intro discount.

During Catch Up sales for an event, products that were released during the event may go back to being 40% off, even if they are beyond the 14 day cutoff.

When it comes to the discounts, very little has changed.

the regular prices seem to have risen significantly. i may be worng, or I may be right. I did mention the decrease in % off in another thread. It seems its been hiugher for a very long time, not just during the PC+ sale.

They've gone up a noticeable bit, in little increments, over the past few years. Look at almost any vendor's products from a few years ago and their comparable products have gone up a few dollars.  Part of that is no doubt due to inflation and, since a lot of the PAs are based overseas, currency fluctuations, part of it is no doubt due to the greater complexity and level of detail that is expected for the newer products, but, I suspect, mostly it is to allow room for DAZ to advertise he bigger discount sales without actually affecting the real bottom line.  After all, it has been proven time and time again that people will buy sometihng that is being advertised as on sale over something that is being sold at regular price... even when the two are actually the exact same items being sold at the same price, with the only difference being the higher "regular" price the sale version has been discounted from.

I have noticed this too. The REAL prices are the "sale" prices, and the the non-sale prices are just to scare you into buying them while they are on sale. I assure you, I am not paying nearly $40 for a vignette, no matter who made it!

  • I must be going crazy then was pretty sure we were getting non daz new releases at 40% on the first week or two for long time maybe age catching up

I just shop the weekly freebies.

The PA sale was before the PC anniversary, so yes a good two months of larger intro discounts.

so I'm not crazy we did have larger discounts, I know it was a fair while ago but was pretty sure we did oh well. Though the last PC Anniversary did give us some massive discounts in the PC for a day $1.99 including some huge bundles plus alot of that was still fairly new best sale ever well I liked it makes up for it

There were larger discounts during the big sales months, yes. It’s back to “regular” discounts now that they’re over.

  • Conceivable to give us a breather, and then, whamoo! More something coming for the Christmas sales, 12 days of ... yes?! Must be, all these GCs on sale lol ...
