Can *Ps products / files be deinstalled for Daz 4.10?

Hi,

can*Ps products / files be deinstalled for Daz 4.10?

I mean the products listed in IM with ending " Ps".

I don't use poser.

    It depends on the product:

    • some products have full DS and poser versions included. In that case you don't need the poser files.
    • some products, like content for V4/M4, are provided in poser format with sometimes a "studioCF" file with DS materials. In that case you do need the poser files as they contain the actual figures or props.
  • Of course.  They uninstall in Install Manager in the same way as products/files for Daz Studio.  In your Installed tab, just click on the Uninstall button.  That should move the item back to your Ready to Install tab/list.  For newer items, you can remove them from that list by right-clicking on the arrow next to the Install button and choosing the delete button.  Most of the items that come with Ps files might have to be removed from the Ready to Install list by deleting the downloaded file itself.  It will be in your DazStudio>InstallManager>Downloads files, listed by the product's IM number, as in IM00005517 for the Poser files for your Beach Volleyball set.  Obviously, delete only the Ps files.

I don't know about removing Ps files from the Ready to Download tab permanently because you own the rights to the file, but you can right-click on the arrow next to the Download button and choose to hide the option to download the file.

I noticed that there are files for poser and DAZ without separat product file for DAZ (one file only for this product for all).
But in your second case are the filename then ending with " Ps" and there is only this file for this product?
Or do you mean there are products with a ending with " Ps" product file and a non-ending with " Ps" product file and then the " Ps" product file contains data for DAZ which is not in the non " Ps" product file?

I think of following strategy in IM:
    - select products with  poser <9 and  9+
    - deselect  products with DAZ 4.5+    (because in first step there are files for poser and  DAZ 4.5+)
    - check / deselect products not ending with " Ps" manually in IM information/list

Products tagged for poser and DAZ 4 or below  but  not tagged for DAZ 4.5+  will then be deinstalled.
But this could miss your second case depending what you mean regarding my questions above.

Yes, handling the non-installation of downloaded files is also a task. But regarding space on disk I remove manually files from current download both after backup them on another hd.

At the moment for me the question is how to handle already installed poser product data and what can be deinstalled without negative effects to my items for DAZ 4.10.
