I bought one of the sets. I was thinking of using the pistols with https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-gunslinger-for-genesis-8-males
I was going to buy all three until I saw there was not even a grip pose
yeah, but that is a really bad gunbelt setup from the promos and the main reason I did not get that outfit.
@FSMCDesigns
I wouldn't know a good gunbelt from bad, Michael. But I really liked the outfit, except for the pants. I think most men back than wore loose pants, over their boots, didn't they? Regardless, what do you think of the gunbelt with Luthbel's Desperado?
Luthbells is to small, but the belt and the angle work. i used the geometry editor to hide the holster and then exported just the belt out and deleted all the polys other than the holster and imported it back so i could scale up the holster without affecting the belt mesh to fit the project I used it for, not ideal, but it worked for that series of renders.
My Dad was a gun collector and had several authentic western guns. I fell in love with western weapons when I shot an 1851 navy colt for the first time, so the western gunfighter look with emphisis on the gunbelt is a big deal to me. I spent my summers on an uncles ranch and when I was 15 my uncle gave me a replica peacemaker colt and black leather belt rig. it was such a cool feeling riding along with him and his ranch hands with that thing strapped on, (couldn't hit the side of a barn with it at the time though) LOL
I asked about modding the existing holsters to fit them on the FB post, but got no response whatsoever. I might buy some and do it anyway, but I'd imagine someone else is already on it, now.
Well I decided to do it myself rather than wait for a quality holster rig to be made since I had a project that needed it.
I took Luthbels holster/belt and exported it as an .OBJ. then opened it up in 3DSMax and edited the mesh. Made the holster a little bigger, lowered it, then mirrored a copy of it. edited the mesh again to eliminate the 2nd buckle and move a few overlapping polys, then exported it as an .OBJ. Loaded the OBJ back into DS, applied the textures I copied from the orginal. Then transferred the rigging from the original belt, Deleted the original belt and then fit the new one to the figure. Despite a few small errors i can fix with post, it worked fine. Here is a test image with 2 of DZFires new western sidearms
That's quite impressive, shame I'm absolutely crap at rigging or I'd do the same.
