How Do I Close My DAZ Account?

I've permanently quit 3D art to pursue an interest writing and would like to close my account.  I tried the Submit a Request form on the Contact Us page but it's designed for reporting problems with an order.

  • We can't exactly close our accounts, but if ever you were subscribing, you can check through your Account settings, in particular for PC subscriptions and make sure that nothing is going to renew on you [and don't forget to also cancel subscriptions at Pay Pal if you've used their services for such]. If ever you might change your mind, keep a record of the email address and password associated with the account so IF you decide to return you can still access the Product Library.

Oh-kay...  Well, my PC membership expired earlier this month and I'm not subscribed to anything through PayPal, so I guess there's nothing else to do...

Actually, if you do use the Contact Us form, Account Cancellation/Close is an option in the Tech Ticket Tracker field at the very bottom.

As I understand it, they don't close accounts because you have purchases associated with your account that you're allowed to access as long as the site stands, according to the current EULA. If, a couple years down the road, you decided that you wanted to tinker again, a closed account would put them in violation of their own terms of service to the user, assuming nothing changes. They'd have to figure out a way to rebuild your purchase history and library.

Ah.  That makes sense.  Thanks for clarifying.

    It wants an order number.

I'm pretty sure they highly discourage closing your account because the cost is expensive of what customers have bought oftentimes & they change their minds later. To really close an account they make you write a ticket requesting the account be closed.

I never closed mine from the early 2000s so I probably could log in and download what products I bought back then and that account hasn't been accessed since 2000 or 2001 I think it was.
