You can spot some PAs work pretty much immediately when you look at them.... characters especially as they begin to all look similar ..

I wonder if some of the promos he is using a different lighting setup? Some of the promos for this new one remind me of the ones for Rhogue. And not too many of his characters have eyebrows that are that much curved.
(I don't have either one of then yet, but I gather I own 23 Mousso ladies from the "51 of 74 items" when I check vendor page. Need to work up a couple environments to start rendering some of them, but I'm still working on learning lighting.)
You can always spot a Mousso character, I'm a sucker for them, I have over 50. I even bought two of them twice without noticing, once at Rendo and then again when they moved to Daz. I should probably get some help but the NHS doesn't provide help for Mousso addiction, smoking yes, Mousso no.
Steve.
its crazy how much lighting and hair change the look of a figure
A major defining thing to me are the promos. They tend to have a soft look to them like a classic cover girl shoot, and are framed a certain way. This one doesn't start out that way, but there are a couple promos that scream 'Mousso'. Even so, she is a bit different from the other Mousso girls.
I knew right away it was a Mousso character. There's a certain something something that the PA uses when creating their characters that make them look all similar (to me, anyway). The one that kind of caught me off guard was https://www.daz3d.com/ry-steven-for-michael-8 - before I saw the name of the product, I didn't recognize it as being a Raiya character.
I like the variety in the new-style Mousso promos. Although it's less of an issue with Mousso, some PAs do themselves a disservice by using the same poses, clothes, lighting and situations for every character.
Strange.. for me it's a plus when a PA uses the same scenes . clothes, hair etc. - for different figures. It makes them comparable.
I also knew it was a Mousso character at first glance, but for me, the appeal to Mousso characters is they don't all "look similar" to me. The promos have a certain look, most of the time, but the characters look like real people to me.
I can frequently identify a celebrity a Mousso character resembles, and I like that. You stand Sigourney Weaver next to Cameron Diaz and the differences are obvious, and much more than skin, hair, clothing and makeup. With some 3d characters, you stand two side-by-side, in Smooth Shaded draw, and the differences are really hard to find. Especially two from the same vendor!
Not naming names… I have characters from some vendors where I've only bought one of each gender, they look so much alike.
That said, I also concentrate on the faces. With literally hundred of characters in my runtime, along with a large number of morph packs, I can create any body shape I want, so it's the character's face I base my decision on, with a few, (very few,) notable exceptions.
I also have more female characters than I know what to do with, but I do love and buy the Mousso gals… Mousso's catalog shows "23 of 74 items" for me! So, maybe a step or two away from addiction…!
I have to agree. I like seeing the same lighting, poses and clothing since it shows the differences to me more.
i saw this one and wasn't sure it was a Mousso character, especially since there are some vendors that copy successful vendors styles at this and other stores and it's hard to tell something then. Look at the items from Valkyrie and Anagord at rendo and OneSix and OOT at rendo, very similar promo styles.
