Hi all. I just installed the new 4.12 version of Daz. It did ok for a few days then I opened it one day and I got this message on the viewport. I hit ok and went on with working and didn't notice any difference. So what is this message? Please explain this.

  • It has to do with Daz Studio's Content Management System (hence the reference to "CMS") but beyond that I don't know. Sorry

It means the CMS (PostgreSQL) is not working, so search, smart content and other functions can't work properly. It's also telling you to allow it thru your firewall in case that might be the reason it's not working (it's ok to do so - it's local traffic), or that your anti-virus might be blocking it.

I got that the other day. I closed down Daz Studio, logged out of the Daz site, logged back in and opened Daz Studio and it resolved itself

With 4.12, I've been seeing it often (as in nearly always) after I acquire new content via DIM. There'll be a yellow tab at the bottom of the left panel saying Start CMS.  That'll get it going but often need a Daz restart as well. Behaves itself until I get a new item.

The solution that was given to me that has worked was to change the port for CMS up or down by one digit. Preferences>CMS settings.

  • I generally only get that one when I happy click and start up DAZ studio twice.

I have tried a few things here and I can not get it to quit popping up on startup. So I will just leave it and click off the error prompt. I don't use those features anyway. I guess I will just have to live with it. Thanks for trying to help folks.
