Daz Studio 4.12 Face Transfer issues?

Hi all,

I just downloaded and installed the 4.12 update, but there are some issues with this I think:

My Daz Studio Icon says it's Daz Studio 4.11, not 4.12... Also Batch rendering doesn't work in this release: it opens the files, renders a completely back picture in mere seconds and then starts on the next file... Over and over again... Third issue: the Face Transfer plugin does not load. I have the Microsoft CC++ redistributable file (even the 2017 ones that updated the 2015 ones, but the face transfer pane still isn't there...

So I think something went wrong... To cover all bases, here's what I did:

I used Daz Studio 4.10.0.107 up untill today. Today I installed Daz Studio 4.12 into a different directory and had it's content mapping point to the content directory used by the 4.10.0.107 installation.

In my honnest opinion, there should be an option to update the current installation, instead of having to install a whole new version. I belive setting up the new Daz studio like I did, messed it up... How do I fix this?

Thanks a lot,

Me

  • I think you probably need to update your GPU drivers - DS 4.12 requires 430.86 as a minimum.

On Face Transfer, did you install the specific version of the Visual C++ Redistributable? I don't believe that a later version replaces the need for the previous one: it's much more specific than that.

  • I haven't looked at my regular desktop icon for Daz Studio, but I have noticed that my pinned-to-the-taskbar DS icon still states it is 4.9 when I mouse over it.... because that's what it was when I originally pinned it.  On the other hand, when I launch Daz Studio from there, it is quite clear it's version 4.12 that runs. :D

    Hi,

Thanks! I have uninstalled the 2017 redistributable packages and installed the 2015 ones (x64 and x86). I also have installed the necessary Nvidia drivers.

The Face Transfer plugin shows up in the installed plugins list, but it says it is disabled. What serial do you need to type in for the trial version?

  • Hi all,

My batch rendering issue is fixed in the meantime, but I still can't get FaceTransfer to run... Help please?

  • Here I am asking for help again.

I have installed the specific C++ Redistribuatble, which I found a link to here on the forums, but it gives me two of these redistributables: a x 64 one and a x 86 one. I have windows x 64 installed. Which one doe I need? Right now I have both installed. Please help!

    Thanks a lot,

    Me

  • Hi,

I have windows 64 and I' obviously PC based. I've read the info in the link, bit that does not provide the answer I think... After installing the redistributable, do I need to reinstall Daz Studio or is reinstalling the distributable enough?

  • Hi,

I have reinstalled Daz Studio in the meantime. No difference. Face Transfer Plugin is still disabled... The main question remains: which c++ redistributable do I still need to make this work? I have installed both from the other thread on this issue and none work. Please help.

As far as I know if you had the 4.12.0.86 DS installed you don't need to reinstall it, though doing so wouldn't hurt.

  • That's the version I have. I also have both the VC ++ 2015 x64 14.0.23026 and the VC ++2015 x86 14.0.23026 installed. Yet the FaceTransfer Plug In remains disabled... Now what?

  • I'm not sure, it'ss till showing as an invalid plug-in in Help>About Installed plug-ins?

  • Not as invalid, it says it's disabled and asks for a serial. The power icon is dark grey, not red.

  • But it doesn't give the pane? It normally asks for the serial, unless you purchase a license, and that should be giving the pane (in Window>Panes(Tabs)) with the 3 save limit.

  • No, I don't have the pane... I don't have it listed in the panes window...

  • OK, I think you need to open a Techncial Support ticket to get this resolved

  • Ok. How and where do I do that?

  • https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us - you will probably need to click the Sign In link at top-right onmce you get to the form, otherwise it will ask you to enter all your details and complete a captcha

  • Thanks! I submitted the ticket!
