DAZ 4.12 And older video cards
in The Commons
Will DAZ 4.12 show improved rendering time with older graphic cards or just with the newer RTX cards. I have a 3yr old GTX TITAN, 6 GIG card , will my render time benifit from this version ?

Comments
Yeah, even older cards are benefitting.
Just keep in mind the version of Iray in 4.12 doesn't support Kepler or older microarchitectures.
...as long as they meet the minimum requirements, of course - my 750Ti still works (slowly).
can you elaborate?
After the 4.11 issues with my old GeForce GTX 960, I doubt 4.12 will do it better.
I keep 4.10 until I buy a new computer.
My bad, support for Kepler and older cards is deprecated and expected to be removed in the next major iRay release. No idea when that will happen.
Iray no longer supports Fermi cards. (GTX 4XX, GTX 5XX and some of the lower end 600 and 700 cards)
Kepler cards are still supported, Nvidia has not announced any end of Iray support. They have howerver stopped publishing new drivers for them.

Known Issues and Restrictions
Support for SM 3.X/Kepler generation GPUs is marked as deprecated, and it will most likely be removed with the next major release.
FWIW, I get about a 20% improvement in render speed with my 980TI, compared to 4.11.
I get a 20% speed bonus when I activate optix in 4.11, so it's probably that 4.12 just always use optix.
I have a laptop with twin GT755M's - Daz Studio 4.12 is abysmal compared to 4.11 - I get a 50% slower render time as NVidia no longer go past 425.xx.
I guess we are in the realms of Daz3d/NVidea rubbing each others backs and waiting for the cash to roll in.
Sorry can't afford to buy another laptop for another 2 years...or if I did I can't buy anything from Daz!
That sounds really cool for my 230GT ... YAY

Don´t need a super-mega-ultra-high-end PC, an ultra high-end is enough.
Thanks!
