Victoria7 for Victoria8 morph problems with G3 items

Hi,

I'm having problems with this morph while I'm transfering items from G3 to G8. For some reason, some shirts and hairs are not transferring correctly ( shirts for example are positioned like 10 cm too high ). If I use Sickleyield's tutorial ( https://www.deviantart.com/sickleyield/journal/Tutorial-Convert-Clothing-G3-to-G8-G8-to-G3-686682065 ), items won't fit correctly even when I load them, and if I use normal Daz transfer by just loading G3 item to G8, then items load correctly at first, but when I save and load, then they are positioned wrong on my figure. Here's how it looks, when just V7 for V8 morph used 100% for G8 dev load. If I set V7 for V8 morph to 0%, all items work ok.

I have tried to set all Victoria7 references ( like FBMVictoria7 ) to 0% on the items, but nothing seems to work. I'd really like to use V7 for V8, so anybody has any ideas how to make that morph work with older clothing items?

  • Nevermind. I got this working by following Sickleyield's tutorial, and before saving the item as a support asset, I deleted all the Victoria 7 references ( JCMs etc.. ) and now items load correctly for my G8 figure.

  • I also discovered the same problem with Riversoft/Sickleyield's conversion scripts, except there you don't get the option to delete the additional morphs before the resource gets saved.

For anyone who later finds this thread searching for a solution to that variant for the problem, I eventually figured out that searching for Folder: "For Genesis 8 Female" File:FBMVictoria7.dsf  (Or, similarly FBMOlympia7.dsf, FBMEva7.dsf, etc) in the "data" folder in the relevant content library in File Explorer should find just the variants on the converted outfits without finding the versions of the morph on the original G3F outfits.  (Still, check the search results carefully before you just delete everything you find).

Removing all the redundant G3F correctives from the G8F versions of a few hundred converted outfits did actually clear up a couple of gigabytes of disk space as well, so potentially worthwhile from that perspective.
