I have bookmarked this thread for future reference
when explaiing to people why Daz studio (and any Genesis to Maya plugin that uses the Daz CMS),
Will never be used in professional environmens where large teams need to access the same Daz content for mutliple work stations.
According to EULA everyone on the team needs to buy their own copy of the product lol.
If the dsx files are stored in a central location the CMS could be re-imported from there for each machine, and besides you only need CMS to access smart data, and it is quite possible that a professional team will have set up their own access mechanism using the content library, which does not need it.
Thanks.
It is has many features I've never seen before regarding CMS dB maintaining like exporting & importing
If they did have a corporate license or even individuals in some Indy freelance game llc situation if each owned the same content if they were sharing the DIM installed content library root directory shared via a internet file system like OneDrive, that would work fine. Well, for folk that had fibre optic internet speeds it would be reasonable. It'd have to be private shared access internet file system though.
That doesn't mean that Windows 7 will stop working.
Right, I know. But they are going to stop supporting it all together and I have other programs that will need updating and such so O thought it just best. Especially with not being able to use my DAZ Studio. But I guess that I am just going to have to just manually download all my content because it's still happening to me. I completely fresh install of WINDOWS 10 and no messing with the installation either of IM or DS and still they are not where they are supposed to be. I've never had such an issue like this but it's ridiculous. Sorry for any typo's...
help
I stuffed up my DIM update on my Windows 7
now I cannot run or uninstall DIM
or
remove the exe even with CCleaner
I cannot restore previous versions as it won't let me overwrite it from my backup either
restart and I cannot even find it WTF
update never mind managed to reinstall from scratch and it is honouring my paths
Glad your problem seems resolved but it took me three tries to parse your last sentence.
I kept reading it as "update never. mine managed to reinstall..." I couldn't figure out what app "never" was.
Probably because I was mentally sounding the word as "nee-ver".
I came to this thread and read my own advice to the OP which I had just unsuccessfully tried
turns out it did actually work because the folder I was seeing did not actually exist anymore
weird windows behaviour
