IRay Render Question (anyone seen this before?)

Yesterday I finished a scene, set up my render save options, hit Render and went to bed (letting the render go over night). This morning when I looked at the render, the overall quality of it was fine (good detail) but it looked like someone had put a dark filter on the top half of the scene (see detail from render, attached). The top of it was affected, not the bottom, but as I said, even the dark area had good detail. I'm a bit confused. It's a lower light scene, so maybe there was not enough light. But if so, then how come the top part doesn not look bad and really grainy (just dark) and why did it affect exactly just half the scene? Anyone seen this before?
I'm running DAZ Studio version 4.10 on a good rig (no problems rendering before).

That looks to me like something is either in front of the camera or in front of the light source.
First thing that I would try is to click the Surface Selection Tool, and then click in the top half of the viewport and see if any object is there.
The next thing would be to move your camera back and see if there are any objects in front of light sources (including other light sources).
Thanks for the feeback. I checked and there was nothing obstructing the camera or the light (there is a clear line of sight from camera to subject). I rendered it again without changes and it came out fine. Then I wanted to make a couple of corrections, so I made them and rendered again and this time I got the error that outrider42 mentioned (the top half of the image was semi-transparent and the bottom was fine). I only have one GPU so it looks like it may be a memory issue of some kind.
Unless anyone knows any other way to address the problem guess I need to go in and slim down my scene somehow. I am using some big sets (kitbashed together) so I am probably chewing up the memory.
