Adding Fur to Clothing

I would like to achieve something similar to the fur collar and boot trim on this outfit, to be used on other outfits

(see: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-nkea-outfit-for-genesis-8-females)

Is there a way to easily/not-so-easily achieve this?

I've seen some people use LAMH as per below (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/V6GQg), but I prefer the result of the Nkea outfit.

I've also seen people using SBH for clothing products. But it doesnt look very good in my opinion, but maybe settings could be adjusted to make it look good:

Are there any tutorials on creating fur on objects or recommendations to achieve good looking fur with user tools?

The new Strand Based hair will do any of that.

Edit the strand based hair setings to get the look you want, specifically the density and length settings. Be careful though, it's very easy to drag your system to a halt if you go too far. The Neolithic clothes are a compromise to get the look of fur with settings that will render well on most machines.

You can also have a go at fur shaders such as this:

Mine was the LAMH image you've mentioned, but you should be able to do the same with strand based hair even easier on Iray now.
Just select your outfit then add fur/hair to desired surface and manipulate the hair settings for direction of hair and look until you get what you're looking for.
